If I create a form, I know I can save the data in a text file. How can i append that text file each time new data is entered on the form? I have tried using some Visual Basic but can't get it to perform in Word. I am using Word 2002. I have been wrestling with this problem for quite a while so I would appreciate any help you can give me.
  • 4. Word 2002 message when copying files
Hello: Trying to find out why I get the message "The Target cannot handle this type of document" in a pop-up window when I copy files from hard drive to disc using Word 2002. The files actually do copy, but I always get the same message (a message you would think implies the files are not copying correctly). What does this message mean, and since the files are copying can I get Word to stop popping up this window every time I copy to disc (or other media, such as flash memory sticks). Thanks, Doug

When I try to open .eml or .nws documents, I sometimes get the message "filename is not a valid web archive" I like to save these documents and edit them rather than printing them directly. I'm running Word 2002 and Outlook Express 6 on Windows XP Home. Can you tell me what's happening?

professional file. I've even unistalled Office and reinstalled it . What's
going on? I'm using Windows XP home edition. Also, I have plenty of disk

Have you verified that Microsoft Equation 3.0 is not listed under Insert |
Object | Create New?

If you did a default install of Office, Microsoft Equation 3 should appear
under the list of Objects when you select Object from the Insert menu.

If it is not there, you may need to go to the Control Panel, and click on
the Add or Remove Programs item and then select the Office software from the
list of Currently installed programs and updates and then select Change and
then locate the Equation Editor to install it.

I had already tried what the first two responders suggested. It was all
unsuccessful.

I have not installed Office XP for a while so the details have faded.
However, I believe the default install has Equation Editor as one of the
items that "install on first use".

You can force an install by re-running Office setup from Conteol Panel
Add/Remove programs or from the CD and select a custom install. From
there, you will have to 'drill through' the settings until you lacate
equation editor on the options.

Let us know.

Thanks for all of the input. The problem has been solved. The default
installation of Office doesn't install the Tools package were Equation Editor
is placed. If you use custom installation, you have to click on complete and
it is installed.

The instructions you were given before should have allowed you to use Custom
and select the specific tools that include EE.

I've followed the instructions below to install Equation Editor, but when I
open Word, and Insert Object, the Equation Editor still is not a choice.

Equation Editor is included on your Office 2003 CD, but it is not
installed by default. You can add the feature to your installation by
inserting the CD and clicking on Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove

find Equation Editor in the "Office Tools" category.
