  • 1. How to lock background?
Hi, Can someone help a desperate swede? =) I need to know how I can lock the picture (gif-format) that I have inserted into a Word document? Im making the companys stationary paper and I would like this picture - used as background, to be locked, so no one can delete it. When its locked, it would be able to wright ordinary text in the document or do I always need to use the Text box? Can some one help me? Thank you!
  • 2. Extra page - unwanted
I am using word 2003 I have a 20 page document with a header on pages 2-20. (all the headers are the same as section one) The last six pages are appendeixes with picture of Access screens on them. On the last page I have a section break, which of course gives me a new page that I do not want. But when I delete the section break it takes the headers from the last 6 pages away also. I tried changing the break to a page break and the same thing happened. I tried deleting everything below page 20, but again the headers from the last 6 pages are gone. Does anyone have any idea regarding what is happening here? Can you give me any ideas as how to correct this. Aurora

To change the indent settings: Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S. In the Styles task
pane, click the Manage Styles button. On the Set Defaults tab, make the
desired changes. Click "New documents based on this template" and then click
OK. If/when you are prompted to save your template, choose to do so.

To change the default tabs for a document, use the Tabs dialog box. (For
easy access, you may want to add the Tabs command to the Quick Access
Toolbar, via Office button | Word Options, Customize category).

To change the default tabs for all documents, open the normal.dotm template
as a file (search for it in Windows, then right-click its icon and click the
Open command). Set the desired default tab stops in the Tabs dialog box, and
click OK. Save and close normal.dotm. But see
http://www.**--****.com/ , which explains why you
should be using custom tab stops instead of the default ones.

3.Change Indents, Spacing and tab stop permanently on my computer

Please help, it takes time setting the Indents and spacing (and tab stops)
repeatedly while working in a document.
It is set automatically on 1.32 Indent which is too much. I prefer 1.25
The indent and tab stops also does not align unless setting it repeatedly.

5.Changing default tab spacing in Word

Hello,

I've noticed that the default tabs setting in Word is 0.5 in, which I almost
always have to change to 0.25 because I prefer it smaller. Is there any way
to permanently change this default so I don't have to do it in every document
individually?

Thanks!
