  • 1. hWnd for a button
Hi everyone, I'm looking for the lower left position of a given button on a Word vba form as mouse coordinates (not the .left/.top properties!) so that the following code fragment could work: Call GetWindowRect(myHWND, Rec) SetCursorPos Rec.Left, Rec.Top First challenge could be to get the button's window handle. Maybe it doesn't have one (though listboxes do have) as I found out until now. Anyone got a nice idea? Thanx, Lorenz
  • 2. 'AttachedTemplate'
If there are 2 or 3 xxxxx.dot files in my startup directory (add-ins), plus the 'normal.dot' in the template directory, which one is the 'attached template' for purposes of operations like reassigning in VBA macro keyboard commands? (e.g., 'CustomizationContext = ActiveDocument.AttachedTemplate'). Can the AttachedTemplate ever be an add-in? Can it never be an add-in? Add the following twist: the user calls for a 'New' document via the 'Files' menu and selects a document from the Templates listing. It seems pretty obvious that in that case the 'attached template' is the one selected for the new document, but the operation of the 'CustomizationContext = ActiveDocument.AttachedTemplate' doesn't always seem to bear that out. Thanks, Ed
  • 3. Setting the font in MS Word VBA
This shouldn't be this hard, but I can't seem to find any easy answers. I have a Range variable, and all I want to do is set the font for that Range, so that when I do an InsertAfter() on that Range, it will insert with a given font. I've tried doing myRange.Font.Name as well as myRangeFont.NameAscii and neither works. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks! ~ Steve

When I OPEN a file, I would like my VIEWS to always be set as DETAILS. How

3.file open/views/details set details as default in VISTA

I am having an annoying problem (upon file open or save /view ... I CAN'T GET
TO SEE the precious "date modified" under VIEW DETAILS, even if I select it
each time -- I only get the NAME Column under VISTA and Office 2003)

Is this a known problem under VISTA and office2003 ??

system: VISTA Business SP1, Office 2003 SP3

4.Changing default office open and save dialogs View to DETAILS

This must be possible... at least you would sure hope so. The default "View"
in open and save dialog boxes across the MS Office 2003 (and prior versions)
of an alpha list is almost never useful to me or my colleages. How do I get
ALL open and save dialog boxes to default to "Details" AND ordered by most
recent files first (i.e., by most recent "date modified", so I can see the
dates. With many docs in a folder who can remember the name of the most
recent version of a file... If it was at the top of my list all the time,
many hours a year of wasted time changing the view and tons of key clicks on
my 54 year olde fingers would be saved. Please help! Cant think of a single
person I have mentioned this problem to who do not agree!!! Fix it MS, or if
it is doable currently... there is no Help "query" that every produces a
relevent answer... so fix that!

5.File Open / View / Details Set as Default

When I OPEN a file, I would like my VIEWS to always be set as DETAILS. How
can I set this to be the default view?

I have gone to Windows Explorer Tools | Folder Options and set the folders
to be like the one shown (details) but when I go back into Word 2007 the old
yucky view is still there. Also, I need the the title of the document column
to be wider, which I can do by dragging it, but I want to set it wider as a
default, and it switches back to the yucky view as soon as I close the open
dialogue box.

This was posted previously but wasn't answered. Anybody???
