  • 2. Problems with download manager on Windows Server 2003
When trying to download content from the subscriber download site while using Windows Server 2003 on my workstation I get the following error message: "Your content security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly." This sounds like an IE setting, so I go set the security level for trusted sites to Low. Changing the IE setting to Low has no effect. I still get this message. Anyone else have a clue on how to get the download manager to work from Server 2003. George McKee

MSDN Licenisng - Products usage

Postby S3VtYXI » Tue, 20 Jul 2004 01:15:02 GMT

I work for several clients, one of which is a Microsoft Certified partner. For purely training purposes, could they use the Microsoft products like Operating Systems, Servers, and applications like Office, Virtual PC, .net etc., AS NEEDED from the MSDN licensing? The maximum usage could never exceed more than 20 for any product. OR if I need to follow the liceinsing guide lines, if any one could provide a link that is highly appreciated.

Is it your subscription?
If so no one else can use it.
the license to use is for an individual and can not be shared with
others.

Generally you are limited to 10 installations of each product.

Read your Master EULA for details.
The Master EULA is a small booklet and takes precedence over the
individual EULAs.

Kumar, the MSDN License does not apply to MSDN media which is provided by
the Certified Partner Program.

A Certified Partner should consult their Partner Program Agreement. The
number of licenses available for internal, training, and demo purposes
varies by Partner Level and by country. I cannot tell from your post what
country you might be in, nor what Partner Level might apply, so you need to
determine the Certified Partner Primary Contact, who should have access to
the Program Agreement.

The use of MSDN is for development. Within the dev environ, you have a lot
of latitude. The CP license for MSDN is a bit different. Consult the license
that ships with the product.

Off the hip, I would say yes. But, that is a guess. Have them talk to their
MS licensing rep.
