  • 1. Removing Excel cell formulae but retaining the values
I want to copy ranges to new worksheets retaining all data (including values, formatting, comments) but not the formulae. There does not seem to be a pastespecial option for this. As a workaround I have used option xlPasteAll and then iterated thtrough the cells of the new ranges assigning their value to the value property. The result is as desired but I was wondering if there might be a neater solution. -- Nigel Barton
  • 2. Object links
Hello, I have a master ppt file that has several objects that link to other powerpoint or excel files. The powerpoint files that the master file links to also has several objects that link to other powerpoint or excel files. There are potentially 100 source files that are essentially nested from the master. I am trying to write a script that will loop through each linked object in the master ppt and then work it's way through the nested linked objects. I assume that there would have to be some way of organizing the links to update based on the linked object hierarchy? i.e. If Master.ppt has an object linked to ppt2 which has a link to ppt3 which links to xls1, the script will have to update xls1 then ppt3 then ppt2 then Master.ppt How do I go about doing this?? Thanks! Also posted in microsoft.public.powerpoint
  • 3. Exporting Crystal Report to Word/Excel 2007
Not quite sure if this is the right discussion group or not but... In C#, I've written an app that runs a bunch of crystal reports, and then exports them into a word doc and excel doc. It works great except it exports them in Office 2003, and there really doesn't seem to be an option to export to Office 2007. Here's the magic code: CrystalDecisions.Shared.DiskFileDestinationOptions dfdo = new CrystalDecisions.Shared.DiskFileDestinationOptions(); dfdo.DiskFileName = newExcelDocPath + ".xls"; excelExport.ExportDestinationOptions = dfdo; excelExport.ExportFormatType = CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportFormatType.Excel; excelExport.ExportDestinationType = CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportDestinationType.DiskFile; d.Export(excelExport); //this command actually does the exporting. Also if it helps, here is my CrystalDecisions.Shared dll is Version 12.0.2000.0 Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Given BASISHE = 595.00 Why does Function TEST2(BASISHE As Single) As Single TEST2 = VBA.Round(BASISHE * 155.85 / 152.46, 2) (or TEST2 = VBA.Round(BASISHE * 155.85, 2) TEST2 = VBA.Round(TEST2 / 152.46, 2) or TEST2 = Round(BASISHE * 155.85, 2) TEST2 = Round(TEST2 / 152.46, 2) or TEST2 = BASISHE * 155.85 TEST2 = TEST2 / 152.46 TEST2 = Round(TEST2 , 2) ) End Function give "608.229980468750000... as result ? (as well in Excel 2003 as in Excel 2007) and - more important - how can I fix this ? Thanks for helping. Gilbert
  • 5. Running Outlook VBA in WScript
I have a macro in VBA that runs perfectly inside Outlook, but now I'd like to make the code work in WScript/VBS, so that our network administrator can configure a scheduled task to run nightly that runs my .vbs file. So, my question is, how do I make windows recognize the "Outlook.Application" and "Outlook.NameSpace" references, so I don't get syntax errors when the script runs?

MS Access Reports... how to

Postby Ed Landau » Tue, 11 Nov 2003 16:32:25 GMT

Rather than re-invent the wheel, I thought I'd ask if someone how done this
and how?

I'm trying to generate a list of items that will span many pages, and I'd
like to put a black box on the far right hand side of each page. The
location (height) of this box depends on the first letter of the 1st items
on that page. Kind of like a phone book where you could turn to the page
where items start witht he letter "S" at a glance.

2.Sending MS Access Report Page to MS Fax

Hello All,

Does anyone know how I can send an access report page to ms fax
automatically? I run reports that include data for many stores each week I
send them via ms fax to the stores. The ms access reports are such that I
have a page break at the end of each stores data. I then print the
page(s)range to ms fax, choose the store's fax number from the contact list
and send it. It is a tedious task to do this for 50 stores and multiple

Is there code or an active x control that might help to automate ("import")
the page(s) for me?

Any insight or suggestions anyone might have would be very much appreciated.
I'm using win xp pro and access 2003.
