    Hi Does anyone know how to switch how Access 2007 between these two display modes in code? Obviously I cannot expect my dearly beloved users to go to the Access options and do it manually. In fact I would rather not! If TabbedDocument mode is set then a property of UseMDIMode becomes visible as currentdb.properties("UseMDIMode") = true or false but if it is not there I do not seem to be able to easily create it.

EXCEL process doesn't close

Postby TG9yZW56byBNZWxhdG8 » Sun, 17 Oct 2004 00:37:07 GMT

Hi everyone,

I have a very strange problem.

If I open a .NET application from EXCEL using SHELL function, when I close
EXCEL, the EXCEL.EXE process remain active and I must close it by Task
manager.

If I open a normal application (I.E. Notepad.exe) in the same manner, I have
no problem.

Can somebody answer this question ?

2.Excel process doesn't close?

I am running Excel from MS Access. Basically I populate some cells from
Access data and then save and activate the workbook. After closing excel an
Excel.exe process remains in task manager. How do I get this to end and
still show the workbook?

Code is:

    Dim appExcel As Object
    Dim WBook As Object

    'OPEN EXCEL

    Set appExcel = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
    Set WBook = appExcel.Workbooks.Open(strTemplateDir & strWBName)

    Excel.Application.DisplayAlerts = False
    With appExcel
        .Range("A11").Value = Nz(Trim(rst![CustomerName]), " ")
        .Range("A12").Value = Nz(Trim(rst![Address]), " ")
        .Range("A13").Value = Nz(Trim(rst![City]), " ") & ", " & _
          Nz(Trim(rst![State]), " ") & "  " & Nz(Trim(rst![Zip]), " ")
         .ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs filename:=strDocDir & strFileName, _
            FileFormat:=xlNormal, Password:="", WriteResPassword:="", _
            ReadOnlyRecommended:=False, CreateBackup:=False
        .Visible = True
    End With

ErrorHandlerExit:
    rst.Close
    Set rst = Nothing
    Set WBook = Nothing
    Set appExcel = Nothing

    Exit Sub

3.Outlook 2003 process doesn't shut down on closing

Hello,

When I close down Outlook 2003 SP3, the outlook process continues to run and
the Outlook icon remains in the Taskbar. Windows XP Pro SP2 fully patched.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Steve

4.Outlook.exe process doesn't close

I'm wondering about a problem that's been annoying me for quite some time.

When I go to run Outlook 2003, and then close it, the Outlook.exe process
remains in my task manager. I've googled just about everything that I can
think of on this, and I've looked through the MS website, but I haven't been
able to find any solution.

I'm running Chapura 3.16 Standard, and as far as I know from its help file,
it shouldn't keep any active links to Outlook.exe after the Hotsync manager
has been closed.

I've got my Windows XP updated to SP1a (I'm not going to SP2, it's caused me
to have to format and reinstall already), and my Office 2003 SP1.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

5.Outlook 2003 process doesn't close

Hi there,

I'm having a somewhat annoying problem where when I go to
start Outlook 2003, it will open normally, but when I
close it, the window will disappear but the outlook.exe
process is still running. Then, if I go to open Outlook
again, a new process is started.

I just did a format/reinstall of Windows last weekend,
and I've had this problem ever since I put Office back on
my computer.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Nick
