I just installed VISTA RC1 on a seperate partition and would like to run Office 2007 B2TR (which I have installed under XP Pro). I know the Beat is not available and the B2TR installer is useless without the Beta 2 installed under the operating system. Is there any way that I can entice VISTA to see me 2007 Office installation? Thanks -- Nick Merc

Hello, I have a custom hard copy document that is 11' x 14' with several areas needing text to be entered. I would need to create a Word Template that would place the text in the suggested areas. I am not sure how to measure the areas for the required text, how would I go about formatting this template for this document. Lastly, I have Word 2003 -- Thanks, Kellie
  • 3. Beta Office 2007 - PowerPoint missing PRORET.MSI
Having downloaded the Beta version of Office 2007, I installed it with my Academic 2003 version. All works fine except PowerPoint. When opening .pps attachments from email or trying to play .pps from the hard drive, the sound dies after three seconds and an error message pops up, looking for the Speech Recognition files. When prompted to install them, it looks into the installation package but baulks when it cannot find the PRORET.MSI file. This file is connected with the professional Office 2003 and not the academic so I don't have it anywhere. After installing the Technical refresh, I no longer get that error message, but have no sound in PowerPoint at all. Any clues??

paste leaves an icon, not copied text

Office 2003 issue. Several people in our org at various times have
experienced the following: Copy text - paste it in same document or different
document results in an image or icon - looks like an envelope. Running Detect
and Repair sometimes fixes, but not always. Must be a Clipboard issue. Can't
find ANYTHING on the web related to this.

When it happens, it affects all Office Suite apps, not just Word or Outlook.

User can select and drag text to another document, etc., but copy/paste
function pastes this funky icon. Any ideas out there? Anyone else with this
problem?

Thanks for the link help! I'll try to get to one of those computers that is
having the issue. It being an intermittent kind of bug, it is real vexing
trying to get a fix for it. Much appreciated and I will let you know how it
turns out.

1.copy/paste leaves envelope icon

Outlook 2003, platforms are Win XP Pro. Several people in our organization
have the following *intermittant* problem: in Outlook2003, copying TEXT from
Outlook and then pasting into Word, Excel or even another Outlook message
leaves an envelope icon. The users ARE able to select and drag the text to
those other windows - the selected text shows up fine, but that is very
awkward method of copy/pasting text. Lastly, sometimes a "copy/paste" does
nothing at all!

I have used "Detect and Repair" which tends to fix the problem, although
only for a few days. Rebooting sometimes fixes it for a couple of days, but
sometimes does not do anything at all. Any fixes for this?

2.How do I get copy/paste to copy/paste text and not the whole page

3.Paste Text into Outlook Email gives icon not text

Hello,

I ran into a problem with one of our offices and it is baffling me.
When I open a Word document and type in text -> Select All -> then
Copy. Then I open Outlook and then Paste the text in an email and it
copies over an icon that has a green arrow pointing up out of what
looks like a waste basket. Then there is a yellow box with an
exclamation on the front of the waste basket.

I have:

Changed the Normal.dot template to make sure it was not corrupted.
Changed the New email to not open as an HTML document.

Still, the icon keeps appearing when trying to copy text. Any ideas?
Thanks so much,

Chad

Instead of the copied text, I get only a small square icon with a grey
