My father had made a PowerPoint presentation which contains a Shockwave animation. The animation works OK on his computer, but when I open the presentation from a CD on my computer (both using Windows XP Home edition) I get the following message: "Some controls on this presentation cannot be activated. They may not be registered on this machine." The presentation then works OK except for the Shockwave animation, which shows only a static picture. Similar problems occur on other computers. Could anyone suggest what might be causing this, and whether there is anything my father can do, when making the CDs, to avoid this? Or anything I and other users who have the presentation on CD can do to make the animation work?

Cannot Edit pasted Picture in Word 2003

Postby S2VpdGggU2NobG90dG1hbg » Fri, 31 Mar 2006 23:05:02 GMT

I recently rolled out Office 2003 to my organization and when we used to be
on Office 2000 we would be able to take a print screen and paste it into
Word. well now since we are on Office 2003 once the picture is pasted into
the word document, you cannot right click on the picture and hit edit, EDIT
is grayed out. How can I get this EDIT option available to me? Any help
would be appreciated Thanks

1.Cannot edit excel object when pasted in Word 2003

Hello all:

Here is my scenario. One of my client's has Office 2003 professional. They
are trying to paste cells into Word from Excel & are
going through this process:

1.) Copying excel 'cells' from Excel 2003
2.) Opening Word 2003
3.) Going to Edit > Paste Special within Word
4.) Pasting excel 'cells' as Microsoft Office Excel Worksheet Object

The Object pastes just fine...but when the user attempts to double click to
edit the object they get this error:

'Microsoft Office Word can't start the application required to open this
object.
An error occured and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Would
you like to repair this feature now?'

So I attempted to repair by clicking 'Yes' and Office goes through a setup
process, but returns with this error:

'The server application, source file, or item cannot be found.
Make sure the application is properly installed, and that it has not been
deleted, moved, or renamed.'

Does anyone know how to fix this??

By the way - I un-installed & re-installed Office 2003...still same errors.

Thanks in advance!

2.word2002 edit picture cannot open again for edit

Can anybody here help me? The word picture objects made
before cannot open again for edit. They have become dead
objects in the word document.

I used Word 2002. I created a word document which
included a lot of block diagrams that I made using word
picture to insert as inline to the paragraphs of the
document. Then for some time later I came back to the
document trying to edit these block diagrams, double
click or edit picture couldn't open these picture objects
for edit. Every object you click now became only for you
to format. Edit picture click didn't response at all. Is
this a bug or an option setting issue?

I don't have this problem for word 2000 and version
before. Old word document created with old version seems
not have such problems. Is there any effective fix for
version 2002, or should I recall the old version?

Thanks in advance.
Alvin

3.Editing a Table Pasted from Excel into Word as a Picture (Enhanced Metafile)

Hi:

I am copying a section of an Excel Spreadsheet, and then pasting into
word using Paste Special -> Picture (Enhanced Metafile)

When I right click on the object in word, one of the menu choices is
"Edit Picture" This will allow me to change text in the picture, which
seems to be included through the use of text boxes. I make a minor
change that is required, but then I cannot seem to revert the image or
picture back to its previous form, which seems to be as a normal
picture file that has been inserted. The only way I can figure out
how to do this is by using the undo command, but I loose my text
chance. If the picture stays in the new, editable format, whenever I
click into it, all of the text is becomes highlighted, which really
slows down my ability to continue work on the rest of the document.
The new format seems to be seen by word as a Drawing Canvas.

Does anyone know how I can make a text change, and then get Word to
see the image as an inserted picture file again as opposed to this
drawing canvas?

Thanks,
Brooks

4.Editing a Table Pasted from Excel into Word as a Picture (Enhanced

If you need to edit the text in the table, I'd recommend pasting special as
an Excel worksheet object, not as a picture. It'll show as a metafile
anyway, but when you need to edit you can edit in in Excel.

5.Edit text in a picture in Word (to be pasted into Excel)

I have a word document which contains tables of data. When I am trying to
copy the tables of data to Excel, I am right clicking the mouse and it has
options to copy a picture. So while the data appears to be a MSWord table, it
is actually a 'picture'.
I want to just grab the raw text, paste it in excel and start some analysis.
Any suggestions how I can edit the picture and get the raw text into Excel?
