Hi Rachel,
This article may help with Error 1311.
http://www.**--****.com/ ;en-us;299774
If it's a U.S. Office 2000 OEM CD you will be
able to move it to a new machine. If it's
an Office 2000 SR1 CD (OEM) you probably won't be
able to activate it on the new machine, it's
tied to the original machine.
If you are successful in installing it and in running
the apps and without the activation wizard, you can
update through http://www.**--****.com/
=========
I have the original disk of Office 2000 Professional for
distribution with new pc only(came with dell notebook).
When installing on new XP machine half way thru the SR-1
Disk 1 Iget the following msg.
Error 1311. Source file not found F:\OFFICE1.CAB. Verify
that the file exists and that you can acces it.
I can see the file and access the file but I can not
continue with the installing.
I understand there are service packs available, but I
thought I need it installed first before I can upgrade.
Does anyone have an idea of how to get this installed.
Please help.
Thank,
Rachel >>

1.Access 2000 runtime install problem and Office XP ( without access xp) on same machine
Hey all,
I am having a problem installing Access 2000 runtime on a
machine. The machine has Office XP installed on it but it is the SBE version
which DOES NOT include a version of Access XP. When I try to install the
2000 runtime it will get about 1/2 - 3/4 of the way through and then just
sits there and will not finish. Does anyone have a idea about what is going
on or have a solution to this problem ?
Thanks in advance,
Grant
2.Installing Office 2000 on New XP Machine
Our old computer has died and we purchased a new machine
that has XP Home. It also has Microsoft Works 7.0. I
want to load the Office 2000 upgrade I purchased for
$200.00 a few years ago on this new machine as the old one
is now dead due to a motherboard failure.
Can I load my Office 2000 upgrade on this XP machine. It
has the correct upgrade requirement, which is a version of
Microsoft Works 7.0.
I get an error unable to locate a qualifying product on
the machine.
Thanks
3.Installing Office XP on New Machine: Old Machine/Upgraade Path Dead as Doornail
I am reinstalling Office XP on a new computer.
My old computer with the previous version of Office is
way gone, dead.
I do not have the ancient disks required to reinstall my
original version of Office. I do have upgrades for
Office 2000 and Office XP.
Before I get flamed for not having some moldy discs, I
have moved many times and much of my older software got
lost in the shuffle.
Is there any way to get Microsoft to ge my Office XP on
my new machine.
Many thanks,
Russ
