    1. Insert Text box no longer supplies the list of predefined types, only Draw Text Box shows up. 2. I'm setting up documentation. I finish a page, then Ctrl-Enter. On the next page, I set up a title with white text and dark blue behind it. For some reason, if I start the next page with the title, not only is the title dark blue, but there is also a dark blue bar at the bottom of the previous page. If I show the paragraph marks, this blue bar is right on top of the page break entry are shown. This shows up both on screen and in print preview. The only way to stop it is to insert a paragraph before the title. But why should I have to waste space like that? Thanks a lot for any help.

  • 5. %20 issue when saving office 2007 doc in Vista with # symbol in fi
When saving any document with a filename # with a space before it, it will always put in a %20 symbol. Here are the steps to reproduce on any machine with Vista and Office 2007 Open Word and type in a few characters and save the document as 'PO # 12345' .. without the quotes. Then close out of Word and then open the document again. Do a Save As and you will notice the filename it wants to save is 'PO%20# 12345'. This applies to Word, Excel, etc 2007 with Vista. Whether the document is saved in compatability mode or as native 2007. This does not happen with XP and office 2007. Even if you send this word doc in outlook. If you right click on the attachment and do a save as, it will also add that %20. %20 is the code for a space right? Is there any way around this to it dosnet do that? HELP! Thanks

file open/views/details -set detail for office 2003 under VISTA

Postby a3Rt » Sat, 22 Nov 2008 04:37:01 GMT

I am having an annoying problem (upon file open or save /view ... I CAN'T GET
TO SEE the precious "date modified" under VIEW DETAILS, even if I select it
each time -- I only get the NAME Column under VISTA and Office 2003)

Is this a known problem under VISTA and office2003 ??

2.file open/views/details set details as default

When I OPEN a file, I would like my VIEWS to always be set as DETAILS. How
can I set this to be the permanent and forever default, ...so that for every
time, for all files and all folders the VIEW is always set to be DETAILS?
  Thanks!

3.Details Missing in File Folder Detail View in Word

I use Vista Home Basic with Word 2003. When I am in Word and want to look at
folders and files I either click on the open file icon or click on the word
"file" then on "open". My default view is set to "DETAILS" as I find it
helps me to see the date, time, etc. for a document.

Here's the problem: The details categories are empty. At the top of the
viewing box where the titles of the categories are supposed to be listed, the
only category listed is "Name", then there is only one other space for a
category title and it is blank. It used to list not only the title, but
other category headings (such as date, size, etc.) and then list the details
below. But somewhere along the line it quit doing so.

When I use "Open" from the Windows "Start" button the details are listed.
But I need the details listed when I use "Open" from Word - the way it used
to.

I have tried sliding the vertical divider lines that divide the category
titles to see if maybe the lists were just off the edge of the page, but to
now avail. There remains just the two columns. (The title col. and the
blank col.) I've tried resetting the default and it doesn't change or fix it.

Can anyone help with this? I'll be most grateful. Thank you!

4.File Open / View / Details Set as Default

When I OPEN a file, I would like my VIEWS to always be set as DETAILS. How
can I set this to be the default view?

I have gone to Windows Explorer Tools | Folder Options and set the folders
to be like the one shown (details) but when I go back into Word 2007 the old
yucky view is still there. Also, I need the the title of the document column
to be wider, which I can do by dragging it, but I want to set it wider as a
default, and it switches back to the yucky view as soon as I close the open
dialogue box.

This was posted previously but wasn't answered. Anybody???
