I hope anyone can help me. I was recently accessing data from 3 discs in excel (the one that comes with office 2000) and some how 2 workbooks on one disc were REPLACED with 2 workbooks from another disc that I was using. I am positive that I didn't do this. Even if I had saved the workbooks on the wrong disc whatever else that was on that disc should have remained, they all had different file names so there should have been no REPLACING going on. Have any pointers on where I can look? I've done the basic hard drive and hidden files searches. Thank You!!

I am a vb.net developer and it appears I need the object libraries for XP and 2000 to be present on my system for some things to work. I am getting my copy of Office 2003 and I am assuming I will need to install that along side of everything else.(sigh). Anyway when I attempt to install Office 2000 next to XP it replaces the XP programs and causes all sorts of registry errors. How can I do this? I am using Windows XP Pro.

Access 97 - Access XP

Postby Iki » Tue, 07 Oct 2003 15:56:02 GMT

I have upgraded my office97 to officexp.

When I try to open access97 database with user
security, accessxp tells that, I don't have permissions
to open it, if I'm not the owner.

I only can open this database if the database's owner open
it before me the first time, because if I open before the
database's owner, I can't open it

Are there some other way or some option of making this,
that is not this way?

We are already join to the correct workgroup (*.mdw). Even
so the continuous problem.

Greetings,
Thank you.

1.Access 97 & Access XP

Hi,

My AutoNumber IDs are corrupted after migrating Access 97
to Access XP.

I've checked out some postings and would like to re-
create/reset my IDs.

But while I was changing the design, I got a pop-up
saying I couldn't make changes to the replica. Then I
realised my database is a replica.

Anyone knows how to convert a replica to the Design
Master in Access XP?

Thank you :)

3.Adding Access 2002 to Off XP & removing Access 97

Hi,

We have the following scenario 'planned' for deployment (Win XP
mainly):
Office XP 'standard' (Word, Excel, PPT) removing the previous versions
but keeping Access 97 and 2000 (if present). This is done via a custom
transform.

Then ( eg later) Access 2002 can be added (vis custom maintenance
wizard). But Access 97 & 2000 are still present after Access 2002 has
been added; only the shortcuts have been changed to Access 2000.

We would like to remove Access 97 & 2000 when Access 2002 is added.

We would like to keep the transforms limited to the one mentioned
above; the custome maintenence wizard to the one that adds Access
2002.

How can we remove Access 97 & 2000 in the above scenario (one
transform and one maintenance wizard)? Is it possible to do so.

Or do we need something else? Perhaps, develop something using the
Removal Wizard (would a custom OPC be necessary?) to remove Access 97
& 2000? We haven't done anything with customizing the removal wizard.

A part of our constraints is that we want the transform and custom
maintenance wizard to be run by Marimba Castanet and therefore the
number of packages needs to be limited.

Thanks in advance.

4.Access 97 install problem after Access XP removal

This is a common problem with Access 97. See Knowledge
Base Article Q141373 for a fix. In involves temporarily
renaming a file, installing Access and changing the file
name back.

5.Automating emails from Access using Outlook 97 and Access 97

Hello, I have used code in Access and Excel 2002 that enabled me to send an
email with file attachments from Access or Excel. I am now with a firm which
uses Office 97 and my code doesn't work. Is it possible to send an email from
within Access 97? If so, could you point me in the direction of a source of
information it? I have no idea where I'm going wrong..

Many thanks in advance
