Hello, I use Outlook 2007 (running Vista) for a good part of the day and it wasn't until recently I realized that sounds.exe (downloaded from MS site) wasn't always working. For instance I would click on the send/receive button and the sound would play. I would click it again and nothing... It's not that it's a big deal but now that I notice it, it's driving me nuts :) I tried reinstalling sounds.exe (a couple times), I tried reinstalling my soundcard drivers (SoundBlater X-Fi Elite Pro), still nothing. Does anyone have any ideas what could be cause this or how to fix it?

Does anyone else think it's an enormous SCAM that Microsoft has set it up, at least for Office 2003, that when you download the "trial" version you cannot to your old office version (it gets corrupted0 and cant be fixed so, no matter what, you HAVE to end up buying Office fomr them AGAIN? Unbelieveable. Why no pulic outcry? I'm going Open Office. Wish me luck!

Uninstalling Office 2000 without the CD

Postby Mike » Fri, 08 Aug 2003 05:17:38 GMT

I posted this in the Setup forum but since it's not
technically setup, I guess I'll psot it here too...

I have a PC that had 3 versions of Office on it. 2000,
2000 Premium SP-1, and XP. I only want XP on there so I
tried uninstalling the rest. Office 2000 removed just
fine. Office 2000 Premium SP-1 won't uninstall. WHen I
try to remove it, it prompts for the CD it was originally
installed from. Problem is, I don't have that CD.

How the heck do I remove this without the CD? It's
interfering with some Outlook Add-Ins that I have so I
need it to go away.

Thanks.

Brute force method: delete the subdirectory and run regedit to remove any
