I am in the process of ordering a Dell Dimension E310-P4 desktop computer
with Genuine Windows XP Professional operating system. I currently run
Windows XP Home Edition SP2 operating system with Office XP w/SP3. I own the
Office XP and have the Genuine Authenticity certificate. Will my Office XP
w/sp3 load to my new desktop running Genuine Windows XP Professional
operating system??

Hi,
If your license is transferable (not-preinstalled/OEM) than the answer is a
definitive yes. if it came with your system preinstalled, the license
explictly forbids installing the license on a new computer.

This is a peer-to-peer news group staffed by volunteers all - occasionally
Microsoft will drop by but 99.99% of the time, it is just ordiinary folks
taking time to help others with problems for which they know the answer.
However, thanks for the "thanks."
Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without

After furious head scratching, Deidre asked:
