1.Install Office 97 on Win 98 Problem
I tried to install Office 97 on a Win 98 PC. When I install to the C: drive and try to run the program, I get an error message, "Not enough memory or hard drive space to run the program." This PC has 256MB RAM and 8.8 GB free on the hard drive. To get it to run, I had to uninstall and reinstall. using the option to run the programs from the CD-ROM drive? Any suggestions as to what I can do to resolve this? John
2.Access '97 crashes under Win '98 with Office Xp installed
I can't get Access started. I get an error message: "A system error occurred, or there isn't enough free memory to start Microsoft Access. Close unneeded programs and try again." I've pretty much tried every possible solution found on the web and the MS Knowledge Base, all to no avail. I've re-checked the system requirements for Access '97 and even though I'm well overdue for a new PC, a Pentium II 300 Mhz with 64 megs of RAM and plenty of disk space, appears to amply meet the state requirements. I suspect that I have a DLL conflict with the library files installed for Office Xp Standard Edition. Any clues anyone? Tks! Uncle Ben
3.Office 2000 fails install on Gateway Solo w/Win 98 SE
I have tried several times to install Office 2000 on my Gateway Solo 9300 following a clean install of Win 98 SE, with the same result. Each time, Windows blue-screens and I get a fatal exception error of "fatal exception OE at 0028:C0035B1F in VXD with varied info after that. I can't find a patch for this on either Microsoft or Gateway's website.
