  • 1. No address book
When I click on the 'To' box in a new email (Outlook2 003) which is supposed to contain a list of names, it is instead completely blank. Yet I do have contacts. Apparently they are not showing up as an address book. What is going on?

how to put 2 or more jpg images in the same frame. Not dropping on word.Leave as jpg but combine.
  • 3. Workgroup template location legacy
Our company recently migrated to a new network file structure. And now all the old Word documents take forever to load. When opening, Word tries to locate the original template at an UNC location (e.g. \\server\share\templates\etc). When there is a network-connection on the PC it takes way too long for Word to realize the template is no longer there after which it decides to show the document anyway. This could take anywhere between 15seconds to 5 minutes. User say this is unacceptable, which of course it is. New documents, or documents in which you change the old template location to the new one after opening and save, no longer have this problem. That is until we decide to change the filestructure, or server-name, again. Luckily we use Dfs now so the filestructure is likely to ever change, but it could still happen. I'm looking for a global setting in Word to NOT try to look for the orginal template, and simply show the document. I've searched everywhere but it came up emtpy. Except writing a VB script the removes this MetaData for which every Document has to be opened by the script and resaved. Surely there must be another way. Perhaps even using Word2007 if it can only be done in that version. Greetings Richard
  • 4. Unprotect document in Word 2007 that was protected in 2003 version
We have several documents with fields that were protected so that you could only fill in the fields with Word 2003. If you open the document with Word 2007, you can not turn off the protection. I tried under both the review tab, protect document and under Prepare - Restrict Permission. The document shows as unrestricted, but is actually protected. What's worse, the previous markups show and can not been turned off because the document is protected. Opening it in Word 2003, protect can be turned off and the comments hidden by doing Final without markup.

I can't edit pictures in Picture Manager

I'm trying to compress some pictures for a web page or email. The pictures
are listed under my picture shortcuts. When I try compressing a picture and
hit "OK", nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Are they already smaller than the size you are trying to compress them to?

On the "Getting Started" taskpane, click "export pictures", the next dialog has all
the information...

3.cannot edit pictures in picture manager without local admin ri

WOW!

Well who would have known that to be an issue above all else!.... Certainly
a goofup there, any way to fix that in a later SP or something?

I had tested this on a pc of one of our users, and of course computer name +
computer user = no Picture Manger, then changed the computer and BAM it works
like it should.

now i'll have to change a couple more and actually get them to use it. More
training....

Thanks for letting us know! and hope others can get around this strange issue.

4.cannot edit pictures in any way with MS Office Picture Manager - W

I cannot perform any edits of any pictures in any location - the software
only displays the picture

5.Unable to edit pictures with Picture Manager

We have users that are unable to modify pictures with the Picture Manager.
They are in the Power Users group and have full control of the directory in
which they are working. They can modify and work on any other file with
Office (i.e. doc files, power point files) with no problems whatsoever in the
same directory.

If I move the user into the Administrators group, they can the edit the
pictures without any problem.

Is there a permission issue I am missing?

Thank you
