Good afternoon Does anybody have any experience with 'open office'? I have been asked by our IT Department to take a look at the appications within open office and to give my opinion, ie. do they 'talk' to other Microsoft applications, are they user friendly etc. I have had a look at the word processing package, the eqivalent of Word, and the first thing I have come across is that if a user e-mails an open office document to sombeody that doesn't have open office, they can't open the document via Word, they would have to have open office too. Does anybody have any knowledge of this and do they know of any pros/cons that I would need to be aware of? Thank you. louise

because only Standard/Pro has a Trial, you first have to uninstall that release and install S&T after that. hth g "chrisandfarah" < XXXX@XXXXX.COM > wrote in message news: XXXX@XXXXX.COM ... >i purchased a full version of office S&T 2003 after the 60 day trial was > over. it says i'm licensed for 3 computers. i would like to put the > program > on my laptop...how do i do this? >

Is Office 97 compatible with Windows 2000 Professional?

Postby S2FyZW4 » Thu, 13 Jan 2005 00:51:05 GMT

I just got a computer from my brother that already had Windows 2000
Professional on it and my son needs Office for school. I have the Office 97
program and installed it and it said it installed successfully but doesn't
work and I received an error message that it is not installed.

Hi Karen,

Yes, Office 97 works with Windows 2000.

What is the exact error message you receive and
what action are you taking when you receive it?

Are you logged in as administrator when starting
Word 97?

Hi,

I am encountering problems while using Ms-Word 97 on windows 2000 pro.
It works fine in 'Administrator' user, but w/ others users, I am unable
to write macros.

If I open Tools->macros->Visual basic Editor, 'could not open macro

Why is this indifferent behaviour between different users.

Because of this, I am unable execute my vba code.

Please help.
