Text truncated when pasted into Excel (Paste Special - Paste Link)
by Q3JhY2tlcnM » Wed, 09 Nov 2005 18:59:07 GMT
When pasting text into an Excel cell (Paste Special - Paste Link - HTML), the
text is cut off after only a couple of sentences (Wrap Text and Auto Fit are
selected). Is there a way around this?? The text is only a few hundred
characters. Using Excel 2000.
Or can anyone suggest a better way of linking. The spreadsheet is just to
provide an overview/summary of the progress of a heap of documents (but needs
to have more columns than is manageable in Word).
Cheers

I am using Office 2000 and WIN XP. If I select and copy a chart in Excel then try to PASTE SPECIAL into Powerpoint or Word, the Paste Link is grayed out and I cannot create a link to the chart. I recently upgraded my PC to WIN XP. This combination worked fine with WIN98 and Office 2000. I have a different XP workstation with Office 2000 on it and it also works fine. Is there some set up option somewhere that enables the Paste link?
2.Outlook 2007 Macro: Paste - Paste Special - Unformatted Text
I'd like to assign a macro in Outlook 2007 to a Toolbar button that would
execute the equivalent of these clicks when there is formatted text in the
Windows clipboard:
1. Click the Paste icon by the bottom arrow
2. Click the Paste Special link.
3. Click the Unformatted Text link.
I have similar macros in Excel 2007 and Word 2007 but haven't been able to
get one to work in Outlook 2007 / VBA. What would the VBA code for such a
macro be?
When I try code similar to what I use in Word, I get a Run time error '424'
Object required error. I'm obviously not defining an object correctly, but
I've not been able to figure out how to do that properly. Thanks for the
help.

3.Paste Special - Paste Link - MS Excel Worksheet Object
When I try and paste larger Excel tables into Powerpoint it parts of the
table are cut off. The only way I seem to be able to solve the problem is to
Paste as a Device Independent Bitmap. A coworker of mine is able to paste
the same size table as a linked object. Is there a setting that I can change
so I can accomplish the same result?
4.Word 2007: Paste Special Excel Chart Object as Paste Link
When I do this the charts are cropped at the bottom which leaves out
important information like the horizontal axis and legend. I was able to fix
some of these charts by resetting the margins on the chart worksheet in Excel
2007 to Normal i.e. .75,.7,.75,.7 but this doesn't seem to fix the problem
across the board. Resizing the image in Word only stretches it out. The
only other option is to apply a negative crop in Word.
Any ideas? Let me know if more information is required.
