I want to purchase XP for my home use, my work runs 2000. If I bring files from home to run at work will 2000 be able to open them? What (if anything) will I need to do to share files between the two versions?

OfficeXPsp2,sp1 or standard seems to have the same problem when you have mapped drive letters. To create the problem open Word or any of your office products and click on the yellow file folder (open). On the pull down menu to change the drive letter, click on any drive letter. IE.. F:\ If you have multi-mapped drives, you will notice that the pull down has changed to another drive letter other then the one you selected. So by choosing F:\ its now M:\ or any of your other mapped drives, but not the one you choose. One more thing can also happen, lets say you select F:\ and it goes there, select any folder within the F:\ directory and you might receive the error "The directory name is invalid" - selecting it again, works correctly the second time. Cancel and re-open the yellow file folder and instead of resetting to your file locations folder, it remembers your last location and opens that directory instead of going to your default open location. Other applications do not behave the same way, only OfficeXP products. I have conducted tests to insure it is only an issue with OfficeXP and not a system problem. I contacted a different location (sister company) and had them go through the same tests with similar results.

Just loaded service pack 4 and a few other MS patches in critical updates and now applications load very slow when launching from the MS Office Shortcut bar. The apps load just fine from a desktop shortcut or through the start menu. Anybody else experiencing the same problem???

4.Active directory domain in Native mode switch

Hi,

We would like to switch our current Windows 2003 and 2000 domain to native
mode. We are not aware of any issues that may arise as the only change is
that all DC's would not communicate to any NT4 doman controllers.Testing and
other switches of this nature have proven succesful.
If anyone has seen issues arise from this switch or are aware of any
applications that make calls directly to a NT 4 PDC that may not work to a
W2K3 PDC emulator?
Any feedback is appreciated,

Thanks
Peter
