I have a computer that has office 203 on it and I now would like to put office xp. When I installed, it never asked me if I wanted to overide the existing version so now I have two it seems but no shortcuts on the start menu for the XP version. Should I have uninstalled the older one first? Can I do that now or take both off and start again.

Hello, we have here about 350 computers all with W2K SP4 and Office 97 SP1. So now i want to deploy Office 2003 and delete Office 97. So i created and administrative install of office 2003 and deployed it to a testcomputer. The installation was successfully Office 97 was removed and Office 2003 was installed. But there is one little Problem. In the programs - menu there are links to the old office 97 programs that do not work. Why are these links not removed? And how can i change my deploy of office 2003 that also these old links are removed? Thanks a lot Dirk
  • 4. How do I get rid of e-mail toolbar In Excel 2000?
Somehow, I have enabled a toolbar in Excel called "Envelope". It produces a toolbar that is 4 lines deep and takes up way too much space. I have no idea how it got enables and when I go to "View/Toolbars" it's not there. But if I select "Customize" it shows up in the list of toolbars. It's checked and cannot be unchecked. Any idea how I did this and how I can turn it off? -- Regards, Hank Arnold

Outlook 2003 - Change & edit default view for ALL folders - not just one at a ti

and find the new default view
to something more useful,
folders.
one command?
The Help function returned this:
To change the default view for a public folder, you must
have Owner permission (Owner permission: With Owner
permission you can create, read, modify, and delete all
items and files and create subfolders. As folder owner, you
can change the permission level that others have for the
folder. This permission does not apply to delegates.) for
the folder, and there must be at least one custom view
defined for the folder that is visible to everyone.

In the Folder List (Folder List: Displays the folders
available in your mailbox. To view subfolders, click the
plus sign (+) next to the folder. If the Folder List is not
visible, on the Go menu, click Folder List.), in the
Navigation Pane (Navigation Pane: The column on the left
side of the Outlook window that includes panes such as
Shortcuts or Mail and the shortcuts or folders within each
pane. Click a folder to show the items in the folder.),
right-click the public folder, and then click Properties on
the shortcut menu.
Click the Administration tab.
If the Administration tab does not appear, you don't have
Owner permission.

In the Initial view on folder list, click the view that you
want to appear each time the folder is opened.
The Normal view displays the default Microsoft Outlook view
for the type of items in the folder.

one folder at a time. anyone else have the answer - if there is one.
thanks. Jack

I have just recieved a new PC with Office 2003 installed, and find the new default view
in outlook 2003 disturbing. I would like to change it back to something more useful,
and can do this one folder at a time. But I have 1000's of folders.

How do I change the default view for all my folders with one command?

Thanks

4.Outlook 2003 - Global change to default folder view

Greetings earthlings!

We're on Exchange 2003 and have started rolling out Outlook 2003 in place of
Outlook 2000.

In Outlook 2003 by default all folders come up grouped by day and with solid
lines between the messages. Everyone hates these "features" and has made a
point of telling me so. Yes, each individual folder can be changed back
through the user interface but that's a non-solution for 100 users that have
an average of 25 folders each plus the 50 or so public folders as well.

Is there any way to change this default behavior in Outlook 2003? If so I'd
really appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance!
