Question - is this a shortcut I can freely delete? (It doesn't have the usual shortcut arrow on it.) I have recently installed my Office 2000 Professional on a new laptop using Windows Vista. I do not want to use Outlook, nor have it available to any other users; thus, I'd just like to remove any shortcuts to Outlook. I did the normal full installation, not the custom, which is why it got installed.

I tried to install the french language pack downloaded today from the Technet download site. The installation failed. There is a corrupted file in the iso image: \\proofing.fr-fr\proof.nl\proof.xml You can't open or copy it. Where can I find the correct file (where can I download it?)
  • 3. Unable to Install Project Professional 2007
I have Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 fully installed from the Microsoft Partner DVD. I cannot install Project Profession 2007 as I receive the following error message, "Setup cannot find a version of Microsoft Office on your computer" after successfully input the product key. Manually specifying the location, etiher C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office or C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 results in the error he path you have chosen does not point at a qualifying upgradeable product. Placing the original office DVD results in the same error. Contacting Microsoft Action Pack subscription support states that this should be a clean install and not an upgrade. Any support that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you.

Hello,
I have to install Ms Project Server on a network where the client PCs don't
have Microsoft Office installed. But they have MS Project Professional 2003.
OWC (Office Web Components) are needed for Project Web Access to build the
Views based ont he OLAP Cube (Analysis services).
I was told that a Project licence give the right for an OWC licence.
But where can i download these OWC and how to install them ?

Hi Newbie,

If the Office Web Components (v11/2003) aren't an optional installation item in MS Office Project 2003 you can download them from

3.Office Project vs. Office Web Component

Help. I have an intranet site using Sharepoint and Business Portal functions.
The users are all off-site using their home computers to access. There are
lists rendered as queries within the site that should be exportable to excel.
Most users can do this using Office Web Component - and some never have to
download the component. OWC is not available for users with Office 2007, so
they are unable to download the query files into excel. Is it necessary for
an Office 2007 user to purchase Office Project 2007 in order to be able to
download from the site to excel?
Am I even on the correct path? The goal being to allow a user with Office
2007 to use Business Portal/Sharepoint query files downloaded to excel.

Office 2003 Basic Edition and OWC (Office Web Components)

Hello,

should OWC (Office Web Components) work with Excel 2003 from the Basic
Edition?

Actually, even after re-installing the OWC from CD or the MS download
site, they do not work.
After de-installing the Office 2003 Basic Edition, and installing
Office 2003 Professional, the OWC work fine...

Thanks
