  • 1. Microsoft Office Standand 2003 AND Invalid Product Key
We have an enterprise version of Microsoft Office Professional 2003 and Microsoft Office Standard 2003. Our company moved from having all Professional to x number of pcs with standard. Originally Office Professional was deployed to all machines via Zenworks with a MST that included the licensing, product key, etc. This has been working for the past few years fine. We now have two scenarios. The first is causing much problems with the lift off of Office Professional from the machine (which is working fine), but then the distribution to the machine of Office Standard (which again is coming from a source on the network). It appears from digging that the machines running the Windows Installer 3.1 are receiving Invalid Product Key errors. On other machines the installation works fine. They are all Windows XP SP2 machines (some of the same image, but different software on them). If I run the MSI by itself, it fails with a Invalid Product Key error. If I do a run command with the /i ... /t.... PIDKEY="XXXX" /qb+ it runs fine. This is the same product key that we built in ORKTOOLs with the Custom Installation Wizard. Nothing different from what was accomplished with Professional. We need ideas? Thanks.

  • 3. Please help with "Valid Windows package error"
In attempting to reinstall Small Business Edition Office 2003, I get "This installation could not be opened...verify valid Windows Installer package." error message from Windows Installer. The installation always stops after a long pause loading the stdp11n.msi file. I tried copying the CD to disk and got a transfer error on this same file. The Installer is updated to 3.1 v2, I believe. Any ideas on how I can overcome this problem are appreciated..

  • 5. lost office 03 pro key
Hello, I have a problem that I am hoping to be able to fix. I've got a pc that has crashed. I was able to backup all of the data off of the hard drive. I have re-installed the OS (xp home) and most applications except for office 03 pro. I am unable to find locate the office cd's right now but am wondering if I can find the product id or key from the data that I backed up off of the hard drive. I ran a free utility (product key by nirsoft) that found the product key and id on another pc I have and it show the directory structure that it got it from was C:/program files/ microsoft office/ office 11/ . I was able to backup the whole hard drive from the pc that crashed and looked in that directory structure that I copied to the working pc but am unable to find anything. Any ideas? Is their a certain file that will contain product key or id information? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Windows Installer starts each time that a new user starts Office 2

After installing Office 2K with Run All From My computer, as a local admin,
each new user is prompted for installation media (Data1.msi) when they launch
MSWord or Excel, etc.
Microsoft's suggested workarounds (KB 312596 ) are not viable in our
environment - they only help when an account/profile can be identified up
front, or if we force the user to take some action. The first is not
feasible, the latter is highly undesirable.

We don't know in advance who the user will be in most cases (when we do, we
can create their account in advance and manually fix it - but what a pain in
the *). More importanly, we have accounts created on the fly when a certain
type of user logs in the first time. They are assigned to local admin group.
But each new account is still prompted as in this article. We have 1,000s
of users and this is a huge headache for us!
Is this a bug or we all just missing something?

4.Stop Windows Installer every time I start any Office Program

Office 2007 and Windows XP Pro up to date

Two days ago, I re-installed Visio 2003 on my laptop.

Ever since then, Windows Installer attempts (every time I start any Office Program) to install
Visio 2003. I then hit Cancel twice and the install stops.

Visio 2003 was installed and works properly.

How do I stop Windows Installer from looping the Visio 2003 Install?

TIA, any thoughts appreciated!!
