If it's still installed on your computer, download Belarc Advisor and get the product key there. http://www.**--****.com/ If not and it's an OEM version, you need to contact your computer manufacturer. If not and it's a full retail version, contact Microsoft. http://www.**--****.com/ ;en-us;823570 -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] ~~~~~ How to ask a question http://www.**--****.com/
Now I have had three PC's during the time that I have owned this product. I am not sure which one it was what dow I do then. I am sorry I forgot to mention that it was OEM.
If you read the End User License Agreement that comes with your OEM copy of Office, you will find that the license only allows you to install the software on computer that the software originally came with, and you are not allowed to install the software on any other computer. Assuming you want the CD key to install the software on a new computer, then you need to purchase a new copy of Office for your new computer.
OEM means you're calling your computer manufacturer and I'd be willing to bet that they won't help you. I've only ever heard ONE person say they had success when they called their OEM for a product number. One out of MANY. I'm sorry. I know that's not what you wanted to hear. Depending on the version, you might be able to buy an upgrade for Office and use that CD as your qualifying product. If you own Office 2003 then you'd have to wait until January 2007 for Office 2007 to be offered. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] ~~~~~ How to ask a question http://www.**--****.com/
If your system still running you can use special software to recover your Windows and Office key. Most of them support some versions of Windows and some other Microsoft products. Also there is a products like "Recover Keys" ( http://www.**--****.com/ ) that support all Windows and Office versions and 300+ of other major software packages.

JoAnn, I thought my OE was broke. Four reply posts by IrynaB within 12 minutes with no OP post being displayed, just trying to get someone to go to that site. I really think you hit the nail on the head with the SPAM report. Just wish you had deleted IrynaB's message before you responded. "JoAnn Paules" < XXXX@XXXXX.COM > wrote in
Sorry you're right. I should have - and if I could have, I would have deleted them off of the server. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] Tech Editor for "Microsoft Publisher 2007 For Dummies"
Me too (delete off server.) Don't worry about it, we all make small mistakes once in a while. We just hope we don't get caught in the big ones. "JoAnn Paules" < XXXX@XXXXX.COM > wrote in message
It wouldn't do me any good to plan on that one. Knowing myself as well as I do, something will trip me up. :-( -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] Tech Editor for "Microsoft Publisher 2007 For Dummies"
Yes, me too. Just got this system back up and running after having to do a repair install of XP. This is the first problem I have had with this laptop since I bought it in 2002. Still haven't figured out what happened but during Window's disk cleanup it trashed the desktop and a lot of Window's files and/or registry, but all the icons were still there, I lost everything on the taskbar, including Start. Couldn't get most programs to run but a few did. Of course this was the laptop I didn't slipstream SP 2 onto the original Gold (but OEM) install disk. Thank goodness for Autostreamer and a different computer to burn the ISO image. Now right back where it was before the failure after the repair install. Almost was the big one. .
