The Windows 2000 installation manual indicates it will install Internet Explorer 5. What if I already have IE6 on my PC? (The instructions say I can choose not to install IE5 but then there will be many features unavailable.)

I've been having a problem with my "Private" button automatically getting checked everytime I add a new contact to my contact folder. This has created some problems as I am sharing my contact folder with another user. Does anyone know how I can either delete the check box completely, or set it to remain off as a default Thanks!
  • 4. Office 97 PRO Will Not Run After Reinstall
I did a clean install of WIN XP PRO to upgrade from WIN 98 and did a re-install of Office 97 PRO. I still have the original OEM CD, MS Certificate number and this is the original computer I bought with the software. The install went fine but when I try to run any of the Office programs it gives me a message "This application must be installed to run. Please run Setup from the location where you originally installed the application". I have uninstalled and reinstalled it twice and get same message. Can anyone tell me what to try next?

office pro 97 and office 02 compatible with xp

Postby Lauren » Sat, 12 Jul 2003 02:51:39 GMT

I have windows XP and microsoft office 2002 on my new
computer, but now need to use Microsoft Access. I have the
office pro 97 that includes access from my old computer.
Is it compatible to try to install access from this on top
of what I already have on my computer? What kind of
problems might I encounter? I don't need all the bells
and whistles in the 2002 version so I'd love to make this
work if there's a way to do it.

Thanks much for any help you can provide!

1.Office 97 Pro compatible with Office 2007 Pro?

I have been using Office 97 Pro and recently purchased Office 2007 Pro. I
haven't installed it yet. I am using the XP operating system. Every now and
then Word 97 will freeze up and MS suggests upgrading, since 97 is no longer
supported. It doesn't happen that often and I can live with it. I am
wondering if my Office 97 documents will open in the new version Office 2007.
I have read some of the comments here about the differences and think I
should just leave well enough alone and not install 2007. Especially, if my
old documents will be useless. I also have some Office 2000 documents.
Thanks for any assistance.
