  • 2. Office2003 Install with CIW and OPS Error 1603
Im installing office 2003 with SP1 slipstreamed and using CIW with Profile Wizard, this installs fine on a fresh build. The problems happen when upgrading Office XP it will install as long as the profile installing it hasnt used OfficeXP if it has then the error below occurs, if it hasnt then it installs. However, when a user logs on who has used OfficeXP they are unable to open any Applications. you have to remove their profile get them to log back on and all works. If you remove the .ops file from the CIW all works, this is not a prefered option though. • 3. Office XP Setup problems
Hello, I have just upgraded a Win 98 machine to Win 2K. The Win 98 had a working installation of Office XP. As the user had tons of personal stuff on the HDD, I performed an upgrade as opposed to fresh installation. The upgrade went fine after I had installed all Win 2K drivers etc. The Office installation ihas problems however. When logged into machine as administration or a user with admin rights, Office works fine. When a standard or power user logs onto the system office refuses to run and displays "Cannot run office, you need to be an administrator or have your office approved by an adminsitrator" After this, Explorer and Internet Explorer then invoke with windows installer feature which then yields the same message 2 or 3 times before allowing either Explorer and Internet Explorer to run. I have unistalled and re-installed Office XP and the windows installer programs. I have looked on KB articles relating to Windows Installer problems such as DCOM+ settings, NTFS account permissions etc but no matter what I do, Office XP will not run as a standard user. Any help greatly appreciated. Chris Smith

Can not install Microsoft Works V 4.5

Postby Bob Bongiovanni » Fri, 22 Aug 2003 05:59:51 GMT

I have an old copy of MS Works ver 4.5 that I am trying to
install on my new computer. I was previously installed on
my old computer of which I no longer have access to the
hard drive. It is requestion the registration ID which is
with the original certificate of registration and I have
no idea where that book is today. Does anyone have any
ideas on how to install MS Works without the Registration
number?
Bob

1.template: song lists for cd sleeves 4.5 by 4.5" (not cd cases)

Hello:
Unfortunately I am going to make this sound more difficult than I should
and I apologize for that fact up-front. I got stuck trying to create a
template in Excel.
I burn many cd's with identical song lists, place them in cd sleeves (not
the larger cases), and mail them. Paper size that fits a sleeve is approx.
4.2" width by 4.5" length --- the four identical lists can fit onto one piece
of regular letter paper with custom margins: currently I have it set up to
print with no header or footer; "0.25" for top and bottom; "0.12" for right
and left. Nothing fancy for borders, pictures, designs, etc.
Note: most of these CD's do not have many songs (avg. is 6 songs per cd):
Ideally I would like a template that:
I can type the title of CD on top [should this be a header?].
Below it would be the list of songs:
Track number (possibly automatically populate?)
Name of song
[Possibly a third column for length of song but not necessary]
I would like a to fit each song on one line instead of it going onto a
second one but sometimes that is not practical
Bottom of list: space for notes if necessary; one or two lines [footer?]
Could a template automatically change the size of the font depending upon
how much space is used?

-- I've tried to write the description multiple times but above is the best
I can do and I apologize for that fact (especially since all I am trying to
get is four boxes -- almost squares -- on one sheet of paper!) Any help with
this will be greatly appreciated, especially by the recipients of the cd's,
since my handwriting is as bad as my communication skills. === Be well, -
Jerri

Will Office XP read Microsoft Works 4.5 files on my
computer if I install Office XP and delete Microsoft

3.Activesync 4.5, Outlook 2007 not syncing, says not installed

Others seem to have had the same problem, yet I can't find a solution. I am
running a Thinkpad R50e, XP Pro SP2, Office 2007, and Activesync 4.5 and Axim
X3i. I use this at home and at work but not connected to my work domain in
any way. Until I upgraded to Office 2007 everything was fine. Using the
office2007 pre-release it was fine. Once we purchased the new licenses and
reinstalled, Activesync would say Outlook was not installed.

I have tried everything - uninstall AS, uninstall Office - and then
reinstall. I've wiped my Axim and reinstalled.

Anything to do with outlook no longer works - contacts, tasks, calendar
etc... if I unselect all those items I can sync (ie: Audible and AvantGo,
backup file transfers etc...)

I've also tried fixmapi as suggested elsewhere. No luck.

Is there a manual way I can link the PPC to Outlook and sync? everything is
installed in default directories as well. There must be a registry key
somewhere that is pointing to the wrong location for Outlook. HELP?!?
