I have Office XP on my laptop which has a dock with a CDROM drive, network card, sound card and floppy drive. When the laptop is in the dock Office is fine. When I undock it, Office wants to re-activate and asks me to put in the original CD. However, (catch 22) there isn't any cd drive since it's in the dock. What can I do? The FAQ on activation says that it should work (4 points and all that). Windows XP itself is perfectly happy.

  • 4. Office probelms with strange behaviour
I am having the strangest problem I have ever had with my computer and it would be fantastic if somebody could help me. A couple of days ago I removed the Blast Worm Virus from my parents computer, and ever since that happened some strange things are happening: When I start up the computer everything seems normal, but then (once I connect to the internet, or maybe toggled by something else I don't know) the computer starts going crazy: - When I click on Send/Receive on Outlook XP I get an error: "The operation failed" (also when I go into the menu, or use a keyboard shortcut) - All the copy/paste functions do not work anymore - across all programmes - not even the keyboard shortcuts - Opening a new window in internet explorer doesn't work anymore, eventually I can't even type into the address line of any web browser any more. Does anybody have any clue what part of the system is corrupted here? Thanks Nick

Changing font size and style

Postby jft » Thu, 03 Jun 2004 02:30:45 GMT

We are changing our corporate font to a new style and
size. This will affect Word, Excel, and Outlook. Is there
a good way to force this change on all the computers in
our organization? Thanks for the help.

Hello,
When I change the font size in IE8 and then print a document in OE6, the
document is printed in the IE8 font size, not the OE6 font size. I have
double-checked and the OE6 'Text Size' menu option has not changed. Why is
my OE6 font size now linked to my IE8 font size?

4.Unable to Change Font Style or Font Size

MS Office 2003-WORD

Bold, underlining, centering, etc, work OK, but I am unable to use
either the Format menu or the Tool Bar to change Font Size or Font
Style.

Any ideas?

Delete characters also seems strange, in that I am not able to
hightlight and use the keyboard's Delete key to delete characters.
Must use Cntrl-X to make a deletion, and that usually takes twice to
do.

5.Word 2007, Font Size, Font Style, Print Size

I have a new HP Pavilion with Word 2007. Can you tell me where I can find
information on navigating the tool bar? For example, I need to know how to
set & save font style and font size, and how to enlarge print size on the
document that I am reading without affecting or changing the font size.
There are other
concerns as well. So I need to learn about the tool bar.
