  • 3. Office will not load: Only runs under master administrator account
I have installed Office 2007 Beta 2 and have been running it without problem for a while. Suddenly trying to load any office application results in a message saying "Microsoft Office <program name> has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install this application". The account I am using is an administrator account, but the only account office will run succesfully on is the master administrator account. I have tried uninstalling the beta and removing all registry/local settings files several times, reinstalling from both the master administrator account and the one I use, ensuring it is set to install for all users. I have also tried reinstalling Office 2003, but the same error still occurs. I have tried all of the possible fixes I can find on google/Microsoft KB but none of them work. Any help would be appreciated!

When you start MSACCESS, Windows Installer starts

Postby (-: TITTI :-) » Sun, 02 Oct 2005 21:33:08 GMT

After installing OFFICE 2003 SP2, When I start ACCESS 2003 Windows installer
starts, later a few swcond my application start regularly.
I removed Office from my Active Directory system and then reinstalled
Office from the original media to determine if I could get Access running
again
with no service packs and with only service pack 1. For both cases, Access
runs regularly; Only with SP2 when I start ACCESS Windows Installer
Starts.....

Is possible remove this inconvenient?

ThanKs a lot

I've noticed the same thing. Please see my post:

I've reported this to Microsoft and am awaiting their response of a test.

3.Windows installers starts at start of Excel / Word

With every first start of Excel and Word Windows installer is started.
What can I do against that?

4.Windows Installer starts each time that a new user starts Office 2

After installing Office 2K with Run All From My computer, as a local admin,
each new user is prompted for installation media (Data1.msi) when they launch
MSWord or Excel, etc.
Microsoft's suggested workarounds (KB 312596 ) are not viable in our
environment - they only help when an account/profile can be identified up
front, or if we force the user to take some action. The first is not
feasible, the latter is highly undesirable.

We don't know in advance who the user will be in most cases (when we do, we
can create their account in advance and manually fix it - but what a pain in
the *). More importanly, we have accounts created on the fly when a certain
type of user logs in the first time. They are assigned to local admin group.
But each new account is still prompted as in this article. We have 1,000s
of users and this is a huge headache for us!
Is this a bug or we all just missing something?

5.Starting Outlook starts Windows Installer

Every time when I open my Office Outlook Windows Installer starts and tries
to configure my trial version of Visual Studio 2005 Professional If the disk
is not in the CD drive windows Installer pops up with a window stating where
it wants to read the install file from. Fortunately I can do a double cancel
and the installer has had enough and quits. This is the only product in the
Office family that triggers this behavior.

Few moths ago I had similar symptoms with Excel. Every time I started Excel
2003 Windows Installer tried to install and configure office 2003. A file
sku112.cab was missing. I found a fix for this. In most cases it is enough to
start Excel in a safe mode but it did not work completely for me until I
suddenly got an update for my Windows Installer by Windows update besides
other thing i wont go into. In the mean time I had contacted an Excel
specialist at Microsoft who helped me somewhat.

I haven seen anything about fix for this trouble regarding Outlook and
Visual Studio though. Hope someone has this figured out

Johannes
