Hi FBC, There was an issue with this early on with Office XP in it not recognizing the Small Business Edition of Office97 . See if you can point it to the Office 97 CD as the qualifying product when it looks for one. http://www.**--****.com/ ;en-us;295346&FR=1 ====== I have purchased a new computer and am reinstalling my Office. May i upgrade my MS Office SBE 97 to MS office XP? My OS is MS Windows 98. What version of WS office XP I should upgrade ? Professional? SBE? Home?
2.Office 97 Pro upgrade doesn't recognize Office 97 SBE
I'm trying to load Office 97 Professional Edition Upgrade. During Setup, it looks for qualifying previous versions. I have Office 97 Small Business Edition, Version 2.0. It can't seem to recognize it, even when I point to the directory containing Winword.exe or other Office 97 files. Ultimately, I'm instructed to call Microsoft Support, who tell me they don't (support) anymore. Can anyone help?
3.Installing Office XP SBE over Office 2000 SBE?
I have Windows XP Home edition and I am having runtime errors when opening my Outlook 2000 (part of Office 2000 SBE). Can I simply install Office XP SBE over Office 2000 SBE without having to uninstall Office 2000 SBE first?
4.Problems from changing from Excel 97 to Excel 2002 (Office 97 to Office XP)
We have got an Excel/VBA application working very well with Excel 97: in dropdown boxes, we were able to double click an item in a dropdown box to select it using OLEOBJECTS. As we change to Office XP (Excel 2002), one problem occurred: now, the very same action wouldn't be able to select any item from the dropdown box, and there was NO error message at all. It seems that the program, for some unknown reason, skips the OLEOBJECTS. Any one has the similar experience or knows the back-end of Excel 2002? Is there any change in terms of OLEOBJECTS from Microsoft when their upgrading from Excel 97 to 2002? Thanks all! .InsertLines .CountOfLines + 1, " strSection = ActiveSheet.OLEObjects(""OurList"").Object.List(ActiveSheet.OLEObjects(""OurList"").Object.ListIndex,1)"
5.Conflict running Office 97 SBE with XP SR1
I have read most of the chat on this site about the conflicts with these two programs. I am not clear however that they are the same versions I am running. The machine has been offline for over a year and was originally preloaded with XP. The Office is an authorized previous purchase. I have reinstalled the platform so the machine is very clean (except for some preloaded, really useless E-Machine stuff) I am having the following problems with Word. 1. The window is "faded out" particularly in the bottom right. Hard to look at. 2. It is not very responsive-i.e.-sometimes it just does not want to save, close, get rid of the assistant-almost like it is locked up-I have had to end the program at times. 3. It only shows up as a program option for one user (the account that it was installed on)-I have them all set for admin.- as this was a suggested fix, but it is not working. 4. When I check it out in "add/remove programs" it shows that Word has not been used since 2002. 5. Just a general pain but...No Welcome screen and error message saying I have installed a program that has eliminated the option though all I have is the XP preload, Office and a wireless receiver loaded on it. 6. Automatic Update is running-but-that now includes Office. How will that affect? Is it going to try and update my Office 97 and if so, is that really a good thing? 7. Is there an upgrade out there for the Office 97-short of buying a whole new suite? I know these are lots of questions, but I would appreciate response to any of them to get it going in the right direction. If I have to take drastic steps, I would like to do it before I turn my kids lose. Thanks! -- tess
