Since installing Office 2003 Professional, I am getting occasionally prompted to install the VBA Installation disk. I don't have a VBA CD and don't understand why the prompt is occuring. I previously had Office 2000 and Office XP with no issues. Does anybody know why this is occuring and/or how to fix it? Thanks, Lindsey

Hi, I've setup Office on our Terminal Services using the transform file from the ORK. Works fine. But I'd like to modify the default Outlook settings for new users. I've edit the transform but in my testing the new default settings aren't being used. Has anyone else been able to modify the termsrvr.mst successfully? I did find one KB reference that said any modifications were NOT supported. Thanks, David

Office will not load: Only runs under master administrator account

Postby ZG11cmZpbg » Wed, 05 Jul 2006 22:21:01 GMT

I have installed Office 2007 Beta 2 and have been running it without problem
for a while. Suddenly trying to load any office application results in a
message saying "Microsoft Office <program name> has not been installed for
the current user. Please run setup to install this application".

The account I am using is an administrator account, but the only account
office will run succesfully on is the master administrator account. I have
tried uninstalling the beta and removing all registry/local settings files
several times, reinstalling from both the master administrator account and
the one I use, ensuring it is set to install for all users. I have also tried
reinstalling Office 2003, but the same error still occurs.

I have tried all of the possible fixes I can find on google/Microsoft KB but
none of them work. Any help would be appreciated!

1.Standard account can not run exe's when "run as administrator" is selected

I am trying to start a new method of using my computer and am not going
to run my profile as an Admin account. I am used to Linux and having to
use SU or SUDO, so this should not be much different.

I am running into the same problem that pushed me away from this model
before. I did a fresh install of a laptop, ran all Vista Home Premium
updates, created a standard account, logged into the standard account,
selected an exe on my C:, right clicked and selected "Run as
Administrator" and I get this message *"Windows can not access the
specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate
permissions to access the item."*

This error seems familiar as I tried this before and had the same
problem. This pushed me into using an account that had elevated Admin
privileges all the time (bad idea for someone who uses the internet and
installs a lot of programs).

What is the deal and how can I fix it?

3.Administrator Account Runs Incredibly Slowly

4.Regular Run As... option (not Run As Administrator)

I have Vista Business. When I shift+Righ Click an item, I can see the Run
As... option, but when I click on it, UAC asks for my consent, but I do not
get the prompt to enter the user credentials to actually Run the program as.
("Run As..." is different from "Run As Administrator"). I need to run some
things not just as a local machine administrator rights, but as a totally
different user (for instance if I had to run certain programs as a different
AD account).

How can I get back the regular Run As... command back so that it will prompt
me what account to use?
