I have Windows XP firewall, 3 separate ISP's. When doing email, for one I always get this receive error for email in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 (works fine in Outlook Express). I read about uninstalling the update KB921594 (since I have gotten all updates for me to get as they come, I assume I got this one too) and wonder if that is what I will have to do. All other reading connects this error to the Norton security stuff but I use the Windows XP. I do use AVG (grisoft) antivirus. I want to do all my email in the Microsoft Office Outlook.

Postby Jorge » Sat, 26 Jul 2003 05:51:59 GMT

I used to have Web components for office XP, I just
upgrade to a beta version of 2003 but can't find the web
components. Does any body have information? where to get
them or when are they going to be available?

Thanks

2.Deploying local cub to the web for visitor interaction using Office XP web components

Hello
I have created Tests.htm using FrontPage 2003, MS Excel 2002 & Office XP Web
Components. Tests.htm consists of an excel pivot table with a data source
OlabLab.cub using Office XP Excel Pivot web component. My objective is to
place Test.htm & the Data Source OlabLab.cub on a secure sub-web for a
visitor to interact with. My problem is that the Data Source is pointed to
my development environment in the deployed Test.htm resulting in a
connection error for the visitor (See Test.htm code snippet below).
"ConnectionString>Provider=MSOLAP.2;Persist Security Info=True;Data
Source=C:\Documents and Settings\Richard A
Ouellette.RICKMDS\Desktop\OlabLab.cub"

Question
Is it possible to deploy a local cub to the web for visitor interaction
using Office XP web components? If yes can you advise on how to set the
data source to the web location?

Thanks in advance.
Rick

3.inserting web component and web tools

Hi. I was creating a new web page in word 2003. I noticed 2 errors.
1. Under insert, my "web component" is grayed out and I don't know how to
activitate it.

2. Using the webtools toolbar, I clicked on "scrolling text" and I get the
following error message: "This object was created in MARQUEE. This
application is not available to open the object. Make sure the application
is properly installed and that it has not been deleted, moved or renamed."

I do not have FrontPage 2003 installed. Hopefully someone can help me out.
Thanks.

5.Office XP Web Components Update 11/21/2003

I am having a problem with the latest download of
OWC10.EXE from 11/21/2003, related to a security patch.
After installing this, the Excel sheets in my html pages
do not display properly until the user passes the mouse
over them. In some cases, they display as an almost
invisible small box, in other cases they display with
large blank gray areas. In the first case, the
spreadsheet appears when the user passes the mouse over
the small box. In the second case, the gray area
disappears when the user passes the mouse over the
spreadsheet.

Has anyone else had problems with this, and is there a
resolution?

Sue
