Office 2003 Beta 2 Refresh - How do I get it? officebeta scanning doesn't work

Postby sasprague » Sat, 12 Jul 2003 09:17:13 GMT

I've been unable to obtain the Office 2003 Beta 2 refresh from
Microsoft's Office beta site
The Office Update scans and then displays a greyed out "Office 2003
Beta 2 Technical Refresh (English version)" which doesn't allow me to
check the box.

I installed Office 2003 Beta 2 in a new directory (C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office 2003) so it wouldn't overwrite my Office XP
applications. I'm on WinXP SP1.

All help would be appreciated. THANKS.

1.Scan to Office 2003 doesn't work

Windows XP SP1; Office 2003; HP 4470c scanner (USB) with HP Precisionscan
Pro 3.14.

This all worked fine with Office XP, but now I've replaced Office XP with
Office 2003 and have some problems.

1. The "Scan To" list in HP Precision Pro 3.14 includes Power Point and
Outlook, but not Word

2. When I "Scan To" Power Point, the scanner activates and "scans", but when
it tries to start Power Point, HP Precision Pro crashes. It works fine when
I "Scan To" Paint or Word Pad. Also, if I start Power Point, click Insert,
Picture, from Scanner or Camera... this process works as expected.

Any ideas about what to do to correct these problems?

It is perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.

2.MSN Outlook connector doesn't work with Office 2007 Beta 2 on a Windows/Exchange 2003 Server

I've come to this conclusion. When installing Exchange 2003 Srv the
outlook connector stops working and comes up with the error that its
not a valid add-in. This is without even having Outlook setup to
connect to the Exchange mailbox!

Can anyone else get this working?

3.Refresh in views with F5 doesn't work (office 2007)

I select "unread messages" view in the inbox folder.
After I read the message (opennning it or marking as read), it still remains
on the view. Using F5 (shortcut to refresh) it does nothing.
Does anyone know what I need to do ?

4.Problems installing Office 2003 following uninstallation Office 2007 Beta 2 Tech Refresh

A friend recently upgraded Office 2007 Beta 2, which worked perfectly,
to Office 2007 Beta 2 Tech Refresh, and found that it would no longer
open any of her Office files.

Office 2007 Beta 2 Tech Refresh was then uninstalled, and she attempted
to install Office 2003.

However, she got 'Error 1305: Setup cannot read file'.

Is this a problem with the setup disc, or a conflict created by Office

If it is the latter, how can it be fixed? 2003 Beta 2 refresh & ink

I found the was added with the Office XP TabletPC Tools, but
when it was uninstalled the toolbar wasn't cleaned up. I did a reset of the
toolbar and it now removed from the list of possible buttons.
