Can someone please assist me? I've tried several times to update my bought copy of Office XP Pro without successs. (Microsoft Word has been crashing incessently for weeks). From the Microsoft Office website I download the service pack which then begins to install. It checks the CD in my drive but then stops installation and gives the error 'update unsuccessful' without explanation. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong? Thanks! Richard Edmonton, Canada

I have a German version of Office XP home edition. To my huge surprise, I realised that the Makro script language in EXCEL is German too! e.g the IF(...,...,...) is WENN(...,...,...) Since I have been programming Macros in English since years, I don't want to relearn the syntax in German. How can I change the Makro script language to English?

problems after SP2 upgrade

Postby QkMgTWlrZQ » Thu, 16 Mar 2006 05:11:27 GMT

After running the SP2 upgrade on Office 2003 Pro, every time I start Access
from the Start button, I first get the Windows Installer popup attempting
(apparently) to re-install MS Office 2003 Pro. It doesn't really seem to do
anything & goes away after a while followed by Access starting. The
Application Event log says the configuration was successful (?).

It's rather annoying and I'd like to get rid of it. Any suggestions?

Mike

Hi, BC Mike,

Try repairing your Office installation by (really) reinstalling it. See if
that resolves the issue.

2.Word problems after SP2 upgrade

I recently installed the SP2 upgrade on Office 2004, running OSX
10.4.3, PBG4. This has fixed the problem of Word freezing after a
document was left open and idle for a long time. However, it has
introduced two new bugs:
1. Formatting palette and other toolbars freeze in their postion, i.e.
they cannot be moved. They are still partly functional, alhtough there
are some problems such as drop down lists (e.g. font size) appearing in
an entirly different location on the screen. The toolbars can be
closed and re-opened but they remain frozen in the same position. The
problem occurs mainly when two or more documents are open at the same
time. Sometimes, opening a new document will restore the palette, but
it will freeze again after a while.
2. Pasting even a small amount of text in a document takes a remarkably
long time. All other operations are normal.
Any suggestions appreciated. Maintenance tasks are performed regularly.
Thanks

3.Excel 2002 SP2 upgrade problem

After upgrading my Office to Office2002 on my Win2000 system, Excel 2002
SP2 which was installed has an annoying caution box appear every time I go
to
save my spreadsheets. Of two boxes, save a copy is default and Overwrite is
the other choice.
I want to eliminate this box as I am only user besides autosave feature, but
the box (warning of being changed by another user) keeps coming up and it is
timeconsumming and frustrating to just save a spreadsheet!
Please someone HELP!
Thanks in advance,
Mike

4.Problem with Stylesheet after upgrade to OFC XP SP2

When trying to open more than one document at a time word
stops responding. This began occuring after I upgraded to
SP-2 for Office XP.

The same stylesheet works on machines with office 2000,
and office XP without SP-2.

Here are the builds that I have that do not work.
2002 (10.5522.4219) SP2
2002 (10.5815.4219) SP2

I've been pulling my hair out on this one. Someone please
help.

5.Problems with Outlook 2000 after upgrading to Windows XP SP2

Hi everyone. We have been running Exchange 5.5 with
Outlook 2000 clients on Windows 2000 and Windows XP
machines for a few years. Everything has always worked
perfectly. We recently upgraded a few machines to Windows
XP SP2 and noticed problems with Outlook 2000. Outlook
2000 installed on a Windows XP SP2 hangs all the time when
exiting. When I close Outlook 2000 on one of these
machines there is a 50-50 chance that it will exit
properly. When it does close properly you have to hot CTRL-
ALT-DELETE, choose Microsoft Outlook (listed twice for
some weird reason), and click END TASK. Clients using
Outlook 2000 with Windows 2000 Pro and Windows XP Pro SP1
don't have this problem. Has anyone seen this problem?
Thanks for the help.
