  • 4. KB947355 and KB943985 will not install
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium and Office 2003 Service Pack 3, and a dual core dell xps with 2 GB of physical memory. Due to hurricane Katrina, I do not have the orignal installation disks. When trying to install these updates, I get an installation failure message, code 57A. Further, and probably related, if I try to "detect and repair" the installation of Office 2003, I get a 1402 error and the statement that install does not have permission to open the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{CC2C83A6-9BE4-11D0-98E7-00C04FC2CAF5}\SingleChangeHook When I go to the key I cannot access the key or change the permissions. Further, outlook gives an error fxsext.dll cannot be loaded. I recognize that 1402 and 57A are the same error. Does anyone have any suggestions for solving this group of problems?

Hello Bob

I am running MS Access from 2000 Pro. All other Office apps are running
either from XP (Publisher) or 2003 SE. I will try your suggestion and see if
this helps.

Hello Again Bob

Thank you for your help. I eventually managed the update by loading Access
2000, and selecting repair office from the help menu. This then allowed me to
run the update successfully.

Best regards

5.Office Update Web Site - Update Office 2000 Small Business to SP3

Hi,

While trying to update my Office 2000 Small Business software, I was able to
update to versions SR 1a. Next the wizard found that I needed SP3 and when I
attempted to run the update it asked for the Office 2000 Premium disk. I put
in the Office 2000 Small Business disk 1 which worked for the SR 1a update
but would not work for the SP3 update.

My Question is do I need the SP3 update and if so is there a different one
available for the Small Business version of Office 2000?

Thanks,

Dave
