  • 1. Still looking for sku111.cab
I am still at a loss here. Every time I try to install any of the updates I am asked for the CD with sku111.cab on it. I've tried office, frontpage, project, visio, onenote, publisher, and even XP Pro. Still no luck. I've even tried reinstalling office. Anyone know the location of this file?
  • 2. critical office 2003 update
I've been trying to download a critical update for office 2003. I get halfway through and an error message comes up saying it can't find SKU111.cab on my installation disc. If I do a normal search for this file, it's there on the disc. I've disabled my anti-virus programs, but the updater still tells me the file is missing. Has anyone had or heard of this problem before? In fact, my pc sometimes just has trouble finding .cab files. Thanks in advance for any suggestions :-)
  • 3. Wrong Update offered
When I try to update my Office 2000 I am offered only Office XP updates. I have never had XP on this pc. And have never tried to install it. Any ideas? Thanks.
  • 4. Windows installer version?
Apparently I downloaded and upgraded the windows installer file when I wasn't supposed to, it won't let me scan for updates in office xp. I have 2 copies of this, same file attributes, version 2.0.2600.1106, file size 63K, one of them is in windows/system32, the other is in windows/servicepack/files/i386 can someone tell me what version I need to run to be able to get the updates, and if it is a diffrent version where I can get it from. o/s is xp pro, with all the required updates. Note: the installer is only a problem with Office xp.. I believe that after U upgraded to sp2 for office that publisher decided to take a vacation and not work. I'd like to be able to get ugdates for the rest of the office products I have.. Thanks Charles

Please help... I am having problems installing updates & add-ins, repairs to Microsoft Office XP
Small Business. I have at some point used Doug Knox's XP_Remove_Hotfix_Backup.exe (Removes Hotfix
Backup files and the Add/Remove Programs Registry entries). Do I also have a corrupted Windows
Installer?

The errors I have been encountering are (sorry for the long post):

Error at 40% of progress bar during checking for updates scan
-------------------------------------------------------------
The Office Update site is unable to check for updates on this computer. This may be happening
because of one of the following reasons:

You do not have administrative privileges for this computer.

There is a network problem and the detection catalog used by the Office Update site failed to
download. Go back to the Downloads home page and try running detection again.

Windows Installer patch files (.MSP files) from previously applied Office updates are missing from
the \Windows\Installer hidden directory on your computer. MSP files are stored on your computer
after update installation completes because they need to be referenced for future update operations.
If the files are missing you will not be able to apply Office updates. You may also be unable to
uninstall Office products as a result of the same problem. Please contact Microsoft Product Support
for assistance.

You installed Office updates in the past and then upgraded from Windows Installer version 1.0 to
Windows Installer version 1.1. For more information see the KB article Windows Installer May Prompt

3.Cannot scan for Office XP updates.

Well I have gone from bad to worse. Last week I could not
install that patch pertaining to Word Perfect Converter.
Now I cannot even scan for updates. Heck, I cannot even
uninstall MS Office XP Small Business via Add/Remove
programs. But I can use Word, Publisher, so something is
working! I guess I am not the only one judging from the
posts.
