updating to service pack 3

Postby S3Jpc3R5bg » Wed, 18 May 2005 00:43:11 GMT

Hello all,
My microsoft update tells me I need to install service pack 3. When I try to
do so, it can't find a microsoft publisher - well, because I don't have it,
it's not included in Microsoft office student and teacher edition 2003. Then
it tells me that the installation is unsuccessful, and I can't download any
other updates because this one is a prerequisite. What should I do?
thanks!

Hi, Krystyn,

Check the Windows Control Panel in Add/Remove Programs to see what Office
programs are installed. Publisher was probably installed from a previous
version (not with your 2003), and it's looking for the CD to update it. If
you no longer need Publisher, you can uninstall it.

1.Outlook can not find servers after update to service pack 3

I have updated to the Office XP service pack 3. Now outlook can not find the
servers for any of my email accounts. I get the following error: 0x800CCCoD.
It almost appears that Outlook is not even searching for the servers. The
error pops up almost immediately.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

2.Updates after Service Pack has been installed

Greetings!

Wanted to do something and before I possibly spend a lot
of time on it I wanted to ask if anyone has the answer.
If not, I will gladly work on this and post my findings.

When using GPO to install Office 2000 / Office XP we
naturally do an Administrative install and then, as they
become available and tested, update that Administrative
install with the latest Service Pack. So far, not an
issue. All very clear!

However, there are still several 'updates' that have been
made available on the officeupdate.microsoft.com site ( or
whatever it actually is ).

My question: is there a way to add these 'updates' to the
Administrative install? I am aware of the addtional
abilities of the upcoming SUS ( or is it out already? )
but am inquiring for those locations where SUS is not yet
a part of the environment and will not become a part of
the environment!

Thanks all!

Cary

3.Office Update for Service Pack 3

I have been up and down this community looking for answers to my problem, but
it looks like everybody is having the same problem.
Looks like everybody is having problem installing SP3.

Well my problem is SP3 can not install on my computer. Why I do not know.
I do not even get an error message, either on the screen or in event viewer.
So is there any thing that can help install the sp? I have done a clean
boot, uninstall and re-installing everything. Nothing.

Any help?
