  • 1. Office SR1 update trouble
I am trying to run the MS Office SR1 update and am asked during the update to insert my installation disk 2 for the file "data2.msi". However, my installation cd is corrupt and I cannot locate the file "data2.msi" anywhere on the MS Office site. Do you know where I can download the "data2.msi" file so I can proceed with my update? Thanks in advance.
  • 2. How to completely remove Office XP?
No one seems to have a solution to the problem described below so I need help removing Office XP COMPLETELY. Word XP will no longer print envelopes correctly. This happened suddenly a few days ago. When the envelope is added to the document, the return address is in the wrong place and print preview shows a partial or empty envelope. This seems to be a margin problem but it only happens with the envelope, not with a regular Word document. I have tried self repair - it did no good. I eventually uninstalled Office and deleted any folders or files that were left behind (the ones I could find). I reinstalled to a different drive and the problem is still there. Where is the culprit and what can I do about it. (I am running ME.) Peter
  • 3. calendar holidays display
in calendar options we can import various holidays. they only appear to go through 2002 -- how do i get them to continue automatically -- save manual updates? please advise.
  • 4. Bookshelf integration
I am installing MS Office 2003 update for a client that had MS Bookshelf installed and accessible from MS Word (the Look Up Reference command was visible in the menu). I had quite a bit of difficulty installing using the Update feature of the installation program. It would not load recognize the existing Office installation, although the client had a certificate of authenticity and genuine installation disks. I removed the old installation entirely and installed version 2003 cleanly, using the client's Office XP CD-ROM installation disk for the verification, but I cannot get Bookshelf link to work.

Office 2003 SP3 and clipboard

Postby TGluZGE » Wed, 24 Sep 2008 00:03:01 GMT

I had SP3 installed, and now every time I press any of these buttons on the
keyboard, it puts a full screen image into my clipboard. I can press:
- insert
- home
- end
- delete
- page up
- page down
- arrow up
- arrow down
and I get a full screen image in my clipboard.

So when I highlight text on one page of a document and COPY (doesn't matter
how I copy), then PAGE DOWN to go to the page I want to paste it, it pastes
that full screen image instead.

How do I turn this off in Clipboard, since its causing no end of problems
just trying to edit a document (this happens in whatever Office product I am
in, as well as email, notepad, etc.

How do I turn this off permanently? If I click on Options when it appears
and select 'Don't show Office Clipboard automatically', it only gets rid off
it until I restart Excel at which time I have to do it again. I'd like to
turn it off permanently.

Any help would be appreciated.

2.Office 2003 SP3 - reminders stop working after installation of SP3

After installinig Office 2003 SP3 my Outlook reminders stopped working on the
local client. I am still getting reminders on my blackberry but the machine
that I installed SP3 on no longer gives any Task reminder notifications.

I have tried the following options to fix the problem but none worked:

Close Outlook
Click the Start button and select Run
Enter this including the quotes
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Outlook.exe" /cleanfreebusy
Close Outlook and do the same for the switch below.
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Outlook.exe" /cleanschedplus
Close Outlook and do the same for the switch below.
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Outlook.exe" /resetfolders

Safe Mode didn't fix the issue either.

Any assistance would be appreciated

3.Office Clipboard shows icon(s) when first opened, and can't paste XP clipboard contents

I'm using Windows XP Home SP2 and Office 2003, a wired keyboard
and using Word 2003 as my email editor.

When I try to copy from the internet and paste into Outlook all I get
is an icon rather than the text/picture I've copied (Ctrl-C) from the
net. This happens everytime if Outlook/Office is closed when I make my
selection. However, if Outlook/Office is open when I make my selection
then the selection pastes as expected. I'm pretty sure this didn't use
to happen, and it doesn't happen when I use Windows 2000 SP4 and
Office XP/2002 at work.

Is there an option to allow this, or is it a bug or something that
wipes out the clipboard when I open Office? I would expect that
the XP clipboard is separate from Office and should contain whatever
I copy under any circumstance. Therefore I have to assume that
Office isn't handling the data from the XP clipboard properly when
opening. When I first open Outlook, if I look in the clipboard I can
see anywhere from 1-4 icons. There's a blue one with a green arroe
like a floopy insert icon, then there are up to 3 other Yellow floppy
icons one with a green checkmark, one with a red cross (X), and one
plain yellow floppy icon.

I thought I'd read something about the first entry in the Office
clipboard getting mangled or deleted or something when Office opens,
but I can't recall where. Anyway this is really driving me
crazy, if you can help me I'd greatly appreciate it.

4.Office 2003 - Office clipboard problem.....

I've installed the Office 2003 Trial version on my PC and I notice a funny
behavior when I do cut/paste or copy/paste,the whole computer system
slowdown drastically, so I open the Office clipboard to see what is inside
it to my surprise 24 items ready to be pasted, I click "Clear All", but to
my surprise all 24 items will comes back and I really can't "Clear All" but
to reboot Windows. I have notice also that sometime it has got 1 item and if
I click "Clear All" the list will be fill-up with 24 items from nowhere and
whole system slow-down to a crawl.

Sometime I wonder, do I need O2003?
