  • 1. Office 2007 Cannot save any files
I must be the only person having this problem since I do not see anyone else with this question. After installing B2TR I am not able to save my new work work in any program (that includes "Save As" and "Save" to a predetermined location). I am however able to update and save older files. Every now and again, if I attempt to ope a file on my desktop or within another folder the system tells me that the file may have been moved. I can comeback 5 minutes later and then the file will open I am also running the Vista B5384. All installations have been smooth. I would apreciate any assistance. Thanks
  • 2. Office update does not work after running Windows update
I ran Windows update earlier tonight. No problems installing 20 required and 3 optional updates. When I then tried Office Update, I kept getting a message that cookies are not enabled. I tried all sorts of settings, nothing worked. I then tried to set IE 6 as the default browser. Normally, IE 6 will gleefully check whether it is default browser, but it's not. I can only conclude that one of the windows updates has broken IE 6. Any ideas on how I can run Office update? I am using Windows 2000 SP4.

Had this istall failure issue for some time. Update log file text follows: "DEBUG: Error 2746: Transform 1TTo1U invalid for package C:\WINDOWS\Installer\298ba.msi. Expected product {901C0409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}, found product {90110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}. 1: 2746 2: 1TTo1U 3: C:\WINDOWS\Installer\298ba.msi 4: {901C0409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9} 5: {90110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}" This repeats for each install attempt with only '1TTo1U' changing to '2TTo2U' and '3TTo2U' and so on. Also get the same text in "Repair Log File". Any advice please ? Is this a registry problem ?
  • 4. Update from 2000 Pro to 2003 Pro
I recently bought a new HP laptop that came with a pre loaded trial version of Microsoft Office 2003. I have not activated the trail version. I did install Microsoft Office Professional 2000 that I had been using on my 9-year-old laptop. I bought Microsoft Office Professional 2003 upgrade and plan to install that on my new laptop. Do I need to uninstall the pre loaded trial version of Microsoft Office 2003 before attempting to install the upgrade Microsoft Office Professional 2003? -- Big Ben

When I create a spreadsheet object in Word, I can edit it noe problem. When I deselect the spreadsheet and then try to edit it again, I get the following error: "The program used to create this object is Excel. THat program is not installed on your computer. To edit this object, yopu must install a program that can open the object." I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office, to no effect. I have also tried uninstalling, reinstalling and deleting all office folders (in appdata and other areas). Still no dice. They retired in 2002 and went on pension. They found no replacements and that is the
end of that

They did not include them in Office 2007 - 2003 was the last version you get
them with.

No. MsAgent technology has been deprecated and is no longer supported. New
licenses will not be issued. MsAgent is the technology behind the Office
Assistants.

1.Out of Office Assistant and Emulating Out of Office Assistant

I have Outlook 2002, and am trying to set up my Out of Office Assistant. I've looked on the Microsoft support pages, and it appears that this feature is only available if am on a Microsoft Exchange Server. How do I confirm if I'm on a Microsoft Exchange Server? The support sites also list ways to emulate Out of Office Assistant via Automatic Reply, but it says that Outlook must be running for Auto Reply to work. I'm going to be away from my office for 2 weeks, and don't want to leave my computer running. Is there any way to let those who email me know that I'm out of the office?

2.Add a new office assistant in office XP - add back in Genius office assistant

Leave it to Microsoft to drop one of your favorite assistants

Since I searched and couldn find any way to add another assistant back into office XP (only found help with Office 97), I decided to trick the existing office XP version by renaming one of the existing office assistants and replacing it with the genius office assistant. It worked

Copy Genius files from Office 2000 C
			GENIUS.AC
			GENIUS.ACS

or if you still have 1 old office 2000 application: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office

In the Office XP location for Office Assistants
		C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office1
In the above directory copy over both Genius file
			GENIUS.AC
			GENIUS.ACS
So had to fool the new XP office that genius was F1.ACS and F1.AC

Rename existing F1 assistant files to (F1-old.ACG, and F1-old.ACS)
		Then rename a Copy of Genius files {GENIUS.ACG & GENIUS.ACS} to F1.ACG and F1.ACS
This way when Office XP looks up F1, it will actually be GENIUS >> It worked

3.How do I install additional Office Assistants in Office 2004

Hi, I read a previous post (from November 2004) that the Office 2004
version does not have Office Assistants.

ie. The buttons to choose other assistants are greyed out.

The November 2004 post suggested that the old Mac office x assistants
could still be used.... How do i do it? With my old Office Mac X they
were in the Value Pack as optional installations. Now when I try to
select them to install them it says that it cannot find the Office Mac
X folder (which I uninstalled when installing my new Office 2004).

Suggestions would be great. Thanks
