  • 1. Office 2007 SP1 finally installed!
I have been having immense problems installing updates (database errors) and uninstalling office 2007 producats (can't find installation files or corrupt installation database errors). When I ran Windows Update again yestyerday (I am running Windows Vista) There was Office 2007 SP1 update on the important list again. I ran it, and it installed with no problems. Boy was I surprised! I had not made any changes. I had not done anything different that I can think of! The only thing I can think of is Microsoft changed something recently in the service pack itself to fix a problem.... I hope someone can tell me if this is true or not :) It would be nice to know what the problem was. But perhaps we'll never know................................. Anyway - if you have been having trouble installing 2007 SP1, try again today. Anya
  • 2. Office 2007 - OE6 Spell Checker.
My OS: WinXP Pro SP2. I downloaded MS Office 2007 and found out that the spell checker in OE6 set to French (France) and can not be reset to English. I am informed that this is because Office 2007 uses new proofing tools and OE can't use them because it's designed to use the older tools. It is suggested to either download a (free) third party spell checker or to install the proofing tools from Office 2003. I opted for the latter and the spell checker for OE6 is reset to English. Now the Microsoft Update application want's me to download High Priority updates: Microsoft GDI+Detection Tool (KB873374) Office 2003 Service Pack 1 and 2 Update for Office 2003 (KB907417) Update for Outlook 2003 Junk E-mail filter (KB925534) and (KB925254) Since I had downloaded only the proofing tools (spell checker) from Office 2003 and am using Office 2007 exclusively, is it still necessary to download any updates in relation to Office 2003? If downloading of updates is not required, how can I adjust the updating function not to receive any Office 2003 update notifications? Rgds, CV.
  • 3. What is Error message J2GPfcW showing at start up Office 2007
I recently installed Office 2007 Standard edition upgrade. On booting up, Office does not start automatically and each time I get an error message "J2GPfcW" OK? On htting the OK button sevarl times, I am then asked if I want to start Office in "safe" mode, or not. On choosing "Yes", or "No", Office then eventually starts. I didn't have this problem with Office 2003 which started faultlessly. I am tempted to uninstall 2007 and go back to 2003. I have run the diagnostics and told everthing is just fine.
  • 4. Office Service Pack - Excel no longer opens
I installed Office 2007 Security Update for the 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB947801) and Office 2007 Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 1 (SP1) for my computer and the last one Office 2002/XP Office XP Service Pack 3 did not finish installing saying I needed the XP Professional disk. Office came packaged with my computer and everything still works, except Excel no longer opens because it asks for the disk and I don't think I have it. Is there any way to get it back working? I am a student in mechanical engineering and I need Excel to work while studying at home. It is Excel 2002.
  • 5. What products are upgradable to Office 2007?
I purchased a copy of Microsoft Outlook 2007. Can I use the upgrade edition of Microsoft Office 2007, or do I have to purchase the full edition?

Can't install Office 2000 Service Release 1a and 2a

Postby S29uYWRhbg » Tue, 09 May 2006 13:03:02 GMT

I can't install Office 2000 Service Release 1a and 2a because the
installation can't find a file on my installation cd. I get Error 1305
"error reading from file Pfiles\msoffice\1033\om19.aw" I suspect my
installation CD is at fault. To compound the problem. Everytime I boot my
PC, Windows Installer try to install the SR multiple times...each time asking
for the above file which I can not supply. I either need to find a source
for the missing file or stop Windows Installer from trying to install the SR.
 Please Help/

1.Office 2K Service Release 1a (SR-1a) does not install for Office Standard

Went to the MS Office Web site and requested a scan of my
computer for needed Office updates.
The scan reported that there are a bunch of updates
available, but I need to install Office 2000 Service
Release 1a (SR-1a) first.
Downloaded this file, ran the installation, and at one
point it requests that I insert the Windows 2K Office
*Professional* CD.
However, I bought Office 2K *Standard* and that is the
only CD I have.
The installer then fails.
What is going on? Is it that:
a) The MS scan application is returning the wrong update?
b) This is the right update but there is a bug in the
Installer?

Any help is appreciated. Running Windows ME.

2.Admin rights after Office 2000 Service Release 1a (SR-1a)

I recently downloaded and installed Office 2000 Service
Release 1a (SR-1a). I have (had) a number of databases
protected with a password and internal security on the DB
objects. Following the upgrade all the DB are no longer
password protected and any attempts to modify the object
results in "not authorized" errors.

Is it simply "re-" adding a DB password or are there other
issues?

Thanks
