  • 1. Office XP full version install
Hi, Chris, No, there shouldn't be any problems. I think I'd uninstall just to make sure my system is cleanest, but it probably doesn't make any difference. -- Susan Ramlet MVP - Microsoft Office ---------------------------------------------- Please post replies to the newsgroup where all may benefit. • 2. Update SP2
I can't install SP2 to Office 2002 under Win XP Pro. The installer quits saying it encountered an error, sends an error report and stops. The log says "Encountered error 1612 while updating" after "Seeing if patch .........\511072.mainsp2op.msp is needed". I followed the trouble shooting instructions but that didn't help. I'm in a clean boot - no anti-virus, etc. Office update says that SP2 is not installed but Word says it is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  • 3. office xp product updates show office 2000 options
After installing an Office XP from the MS Product Update page online, it still shows options for installing Office 2000 SP3 and Outlook 2000 Update.
  • 4. Cannot install Office XP service pack 2
Installation program calls for file from (proret.msi?) from installation CDROMs. Have CDROMs, but receive error that needed file cannot be found. Any solutions? Is the problem happening because I have Office XP standard? If yes, how do I update indvidual programs (e.g., Office, Outlook, etc.)? Thanks

Get the admin installation, save it to a common shared location, install
from there.

3.Update the excel file on my computer, once a new version excel file is add on other computer within same network.

I have a excel file by name overalldata.xlsm in my PC. I would like to
write a macro, so that when ever i open and request the macro for
update, it should search the latest version on friends computer on the
same network in the specified folder (c:\satya\latestexcelxx.xls,
where xx is the version number which keeps on incrementing for a new
version) and update the overalldata.xlsm file with latest version

once there is a change in the data, then a new excel file will be
generated. i.e from latestexcel11.xls to latestexcel12.xls

The macro should check the highest version number in the folder and
bring that data to my overalldata.xlsm file.
