I am trying to extract Service Pack 2 for Visio and when I try this I get an error message stating the following: Extracting file failed. it is most likely caused by low memory (low disk space for swapping file) or corrupted cab file. I have plenty of memory and hard drive space, I used the same machine to extract the Project 2003 sp2 file and it worked fine. I cannot extract the Visio SP2 file. I have downloaded this a few times just to make sure I was receiving the whole file, it is 34.4 MB in size. Any one else ever have this problem?? My main goal here is I am trying to slipstream SP2 into a Visio install, but I cannot even get the SP2 file extracted to do so. HELP... THanks!

Office 95 is not an eligible product for upgrade to Office 2003.

However, you can purchase a full license for Office 2003, then uninstall
Office 95 and install Office 2003.

1.Upgrade to Office 2003 from Office 97 - was from Office 95 to Office 2000

Milly (or Others),
Will the procedure you list below work for an upgrade from Office 97 to
Office 2003? Here's my situation. I have new Win97 computer networked to my
old Win95 computer w/ working copy of Office 97. I also have an almost
complete copy of my Win95 C:drive on my Win97 H: partition. I have both CD
and DVD (which reads CDs) on Win97. I have the Upgrade Version of Office
2003 Pro. I know that if I install my old Office 97 on the WinXP, the
upgrade will work. I'd like not to do that. I'm not sure if the install
program might "accept" the Office 97 thru the network (mapped as P drive) or
via the H:\Win95copy\win95c\etc. I plan to launch the update from my E: CD
R/W. Would it be a good idea to put in my Office97 disk into the D: DVD CD
Rom (making sure to cancel the autostart that would try and setup Office97)?

If none of the above will work, let me see if I have the procedure that you
describe below correct: The Upgrade will say something like "can't find
qualifying product.." and at that point I take out my Office 2003 disk and
replace it with my Office 97 disk, then type something, and then replace the
Office 2003 Disk. BTW, I plan to do the COMPLETE installation of Office 03
Pro, but at this time I don't think I'll install the 2nd disk which has the
Business Contact Manager for MS Outlook, unless this is the only time to do
it. (I do maintain a large sking mail list, but not sure if the Cont. Mgr
will help that much.)

4.Upgrading Office 95 to Office XP on Win98

Hello,

On my mother's old Windows 98 system, Office 95 (=Office 7) is
installed. I want to upgrade that to Office XP.

I tried uninstalling Office 95 and it asked me for the orginal Office
95 CD. I no longer have that.

Can I go ahead and install Office XP anyway? Will the two versions co-
exist?

All help appreciated.
