  • 1. Can I use update Office small business 2007 if I removed my 2003
I removed my microsoft office 2003 version after attempting to upgrade to a trial 2007 and the 2007 messes up and is not giving me spell check with Oulook Express. Instead it was using French and would not give me a choice to change it to English. Now I don't want to waste the money I spent on the 2007 office small business 2007 upgrade product if I need to have the 2003 on there??? I only have the trial that expired a while ago? Can I use the Upgrade to Office Small Business? Thanks

Same problem on all three of my systems - I've never install any "compatibility packs" and everything I have is from either Windows XP Professional (SP2) or Office XP Professional (SP3) CDs which were contentedly updated until yesterday. I also have Frontpage XP/2002. No interest in Office 2007. The Office 2007 update is marked as "hidden" for now, but - of course - I'm getting the alert about hiding important updates every time I visit the Microsoft Update site. No doubt, something we have installed is triggering the Office 2007 SP1 upgrade offering...some file or registry entry... gfm

Hi Bill,

Can you provide additional information?
Is this MS Office 2000 SP3 or Office XP (2002) SP3?
What are the steps you followed to obtain then install?
What version of Windows are you using (including updates)?
What is the exact error message and when does it occur?

2.Install service pack 1 AFTER service pack 2?

5.Windows XP service pack 2 and Office XP service pack 3 problem

Upon installing Windows XP service pack 2 and Office XP service pack 3 I am
no longer able to mail merge a text document with a word template. Once I
removed Windows XP service pack 2, I was then able to continue using the mail
merge feature. By the way, while both service packs were installed I kept
getting a message, "find data source". Upon finding the data source and
setting the delimiters, I was still prompted to find the data source again.
Meaning I was not able to enter the main document until, I selected
Options-then Remove Header/Record data source, but this did not fix the
problem. I had to reassociate the file, then save, but when it was opened
again I was prompted to "find the data source" again. What ever assistance
you may be able to provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
