I have office XP installed and untill rencently was able to update it automatically from the mocrosoft website. Rencently I am getting an error message (The Office Update site is currently experiencing some technical difficulties and is unable to check for updates.) I know there is nothing wrong with the site as other computers on my network have no problems. Problems started after I agreed to the installation of a microsoft signed explorer plug-in during the update process. Is it possible to remove this explorer plug-in? perhaps it is corrupted? I have tried reinstalling office to no effect!

The file D:\DATA1.MSI is not valid installation package for the producto Microsoft Outlook 2000 sr-1 .bla bla bla.. the file is there.. the cd is there.. it might not be the original with wich the installation was originally done.. ... we have so many of the same CDs.. is hard to keep track any clues aout thre.. • 4. SP3 Unsuccessful Installation Error
According to a Microsoft tech, SP3 installs successfully even though the error message says it failed. The residual problem is that all of the other MS updates won't install until the OS "tells them" that SP3 has been installed. Has anyone figured out a work-around for this? (Microsoft has not, as of this morning (9/04/03).

Upgrading to Office 2007 Standard from Office 2003 Student/Teacher

Postby Ui5NYWdl » Thu, 09 Jul 2009 08:41:04 GMT

I'm currently running MS Office 2003 Student/Teacher Edition. I'm scoping out
the MS Office 2007 Standard Upgrade package so I can prepare for Microsoft's
MCAS certification exams. (I want to go for MCAS certs as opposed to MOS.)

My question is: Will the 2007 Standard upgrade package work off the 2003
Student/Teacher package? Or are Student/Teacher packages not eligible to be
upgraded? I noticed that Office XP Student/Teacher is specifically named as
not eligible, so I'm wondering if that restriction might apply to other
Student/Teacher versions as well. I definitely don't want to spend money on
an upgrade package I can't use.

(I don't want 2007 Student/Teacher. It's missing Outlook 2007, which I need
to learn how to use. That's why I'm looking at 2007 Standard.)

fact that they've taken out Outlook in this suite.

2.Installing Office Standard 2007 over Office Student & Teacher 2003

I currently have Office S&T 2003 installed. I want to install Office
Standard 2007 and retain all of my data from the 2003 install (e-mails,
contacts, address books, tasks, calendar, notes, etc.) My OS is Windows XP
Home SP3; I own the 2003 CD; I own the 2007 CD. Can I simply install the
2007 edition, and then uninstall 2003? Or will the uninstall process remove
my data files? I plan to install the 2003 edition on a different computer
after I get the 2007 edition operating on this computer.

3.Office 2003 Student/Teacher vs Office 2007 Upgrade

Hi,
I bought my laptop from circuit city and it had a 60-day trial of Office
2003 student/teacher edition. I'm neither a student nor a teacher so the
trial ends, i click the "purchase a key" button and get a message to purchase
the $239 office 2003 standard edition.
Costco is selling Office 2007 standard edition - upgrade for $198. Can I
install the upgrade version or do I have to purchase 2007 standard for $400?

Hi Bob, I am the administrator. Ended up checking on MS error page to look at
fix and changed the Registry to Everyone. Had a few hiccups but eventually
got it to go. So works OK. Thanks
