While in the US last week on business I bought a Sakar USB Universal Retractable Hot Sync & Charger from CompUSA. Stupidly, I didn't try it out until I got back home to the UK, and I've just found out that it neither works with my business laptop nor my home desktop. Charging's fine, but every time I try to HotSync, I get the message "USB device not recognized". Unfortunately, Sakar's helpine is constantly busy and their email support address bounced back as address unknown. I own a Tungsten T2, and use Windows XP Pro on my IBM ThinkPad T23 and Windows XP Home on my Dell Dimension 4300. Sounds like a driver issue - anyone know where I'm going wrong? Has anyone been able to use this product successfully? --

machine: Palm Tungsten W I installed some shonky software the other day and now even jumping to the category that the app is in causes a Fatal Exception. I do not know the exact app(s) but I have a clue. The problem is that when the Palm reboots it returns to the Category which causes the Exception and so on... After rebooting I am returned to Date/Time screen, but pressing Home just jumps me to the dodgy Category. Is there any way I can be returned to another Category so I can delete some of the likely apps causing this annoying problem?

original flip case needed

Postby Alan Spitz » Fri, 30 Sep 2005 06:34:55 GMT

I've been shoping for a flip case for my Palm Tungsten E. What I would
like is something like the original case that catme with the PDA - i.e.
just a simple cover that flips open with one hand. Been googling
around for it and there are plenty of leather cases and metal cases but
I haven't been able to find someething like the original case that came
with it. I even tried the Palm website but no luck.

Can anybody steer me to a link or to a store that sells such a thing?

Thanks...

I don't know if they still sell them, but you should follow the links on
the Palm support web site to Contact Palm, go through the 3-step links,
to get the phone number to Palm support, and call to ask them. Just
because they don't list them on the web site doesn't necessarily mean
you can't still get them.

So I called Palm via the number they sent me after going through their
3-step links. I spoke to a woman who told me that they couldn't sell
me a flip case! If my unit was still under warranty they would gladly
send me a replacement but they could not sell me one of them.

So I tried ebay and I ordered a "buy-me-now" flip case.

This is one of those deals where you call the CEO. Odds are you'd have a
new one Fedexed to you at no charge.
