  • 1. PPC Version?
I know this is a stupid question, but I am just trying to find out what version of Microsoft Pocket PC my iPAQ 5555 is using. I went into System About and what it reads is: Microsoft Pocket PC Version 4.20.0 (Build 14053) copyright 1996-2003 But as far as I can tell, there is no such thing as Pocket PC 4.2. I thought I was running PPC 2002. Can anyone clarify? TIA, Heidi Hunt

Lines in today screen

Postby Air Ng » Fri, 17 Oct 2003 14:37:06 GMT

Hello, maybe this sound a silly question, but I want to know whether there
are ways to solve it. You know in the today screen there are lines separating
the owner's info, calendar, task, time and etc. Sometimes the lines disappear
and make the today screen looks ugly and messy. why is this happening? Is
there a ways to solve it? Or is just me have this problem?

I complained about this before on Pocket PC 2002, and couldn't find a cure.
I haven't noticed on Windows Mobile 2003 though.

The builtin applets usually behave properly, almost all third-party
applets occasionally cause this effect. It is most notable when there
are more than one third-party applets on the Today screen.

The problem seems to be that the programming interface in the Pocket
PC does not behave identically at all time. I've looked at programming
samples from Microsoft without seeing differences in how they program
it and even the applets from highly respected software authors are
showing this problem.

There is no real solution that I'm aware of, unfortunately.

4.Ipaq 3765 screen with lines

I received an old 3765 and the screen lights up but just show horizontal
and vertical lines. The unit will sync, but I cannot see the screen. The
screen does light up and does not look as if it is broken. Any ideas?

5.Vertical Lines on display screen

I have an older pocket pc - HP660LX - that works fine except for vertical
lines showing through any color on the screen. On the desktop (that tealish
color) the lines go from one side to the other but in an app where the
background is white, the lines are only visible through anything that isn't
white.

I have replaced the backup battery, have done a soft reset and a hard reset
but no change.

Is this a loose connection problem somewhere or is there a factory type
reset i could do or am I plain out of luck?

If you happen to CC with an answer, please unzip my address first.

Thanks!
