How do I clear ActiveSync's synchronization management files? Http listener wont load

I am writing for some assistance enabling synching via ActiveSync
4.2 on a Windows XP maching to a Windows Mobile 5.0 device. Its been
working great for the last 4 months however now it wont work. The
error in the ActiveSync log file is below. I suspect that files which
manage the ActiveSync process have become corrupted and this is
causing active sync to fail to load, but I cannot be sure of that.
Does anyone see what happened below to prevent ActiveSync from
working? or do you know of a way to clear activesync's files and start
over on both the device and on the desktop?

You can delete the partnership with the Windows Mobile Device in
ActiveSync go to File - Delete Mobile Device. This will start the
partnership over from the beginning, just like the first time. Also
if there is an error with a particular part of the syncrhonization
process, usually there is an error given which corresponds to one of
several different situations (some helpful, some not so helpful)
