  • 1. ActiveSync error fixed
I wrote in couple of weeks ago regarding an error I was getting when I attempted to sync my X30 High with ActiveSync while having SanDisk 256 SD card inserted. Without the SD card inserted it would sync just fine using either the cradle or Bluetooth, but I would get a "connection failed" message in ActiveSync when syncing with an SD card inserted. However there were a couple of directories on the SD card that I could not seem to deleted no matter what I did. I then ordered another SD card thinking maybe it was the SD card or the directories on it (BTW the directories on the SD card were created by a mp3 player, sorry I don't recall the brand). When I received the new card (SanDisk512) and inserted it in the X30 it synced just fine with ActiveSync and MightySync as well. So it could have been either the card or the currupt directories on it, I think it was the currupt directories. Excuse the long windedness but I thought I would post my experience incase someone finds this useful. JJ
  • 2. Active Sync with a Terminal Server
I have a Pocket PC (IPAQ 3830) with Active Sync 3.7.1 and USB. I know access my Outlook on a Terminal Server, so I use Remote Desktop Client on my computer (where Outlook used to be) to connect to the Terminal Server and then access my Outlook from their. Is there any way for me to still be able to sync the "remote" Outlook with the local Pocket PC device? Perhaps there is a 3rd party vendor who has thought through the port mapping etc. to get this to work, Thanks, Chris Williamson
  • 3. ActiveSync starts, then loses communication
When I place my Pocket PC in the USB cradle, it is recognized, starts to synch, then loses the connection. Prior to this, I could only synch favorites, wouldn't allow me to choose contacts. I uninstalled, then reinstalled ActvSnch 3.7.1 in XP, but now can't get anywhere!???

Synchronizing 1 IPAQ with 2 Pc's 1Outlook pst file

I have 2 workstations at work on different places. But connected to 1
network. These 2 pc's uses 1 Outlook pst file who is available on the network.

Now when I synchronize my Ipaq with "PC A" than I go to "PC B" (i close my
Outlook on "PC A" offcourse)and synchronize my Ipaq, I get double mails in my
Outlook and in my Ipaq. How is this possible I know they are 2 Pc's but they
use the same pst file. How can i solve this problem.

Hi,
ActiveSync does not support synchronizing the same PST with different
computers. The problem is that ActiveSync assumes that each PC's PST file
contains data that is unique to that PC. In your case they are the same
PST.

I have Outlook 2002 installed on both a desktop and

4.(Work PC) .pst file copied and now want to use at (Home PC)

I've copied my personal e-mails at work and created a .pst file - one for my
input mail and one for send mail - copied it to a memory stick - then copied
to my home PC.
I've even updated the home PC with the latest XP software, and tried to
set-up Outlook to recognise the file, but still no sucsess. I get a message
saying this file is not compatible with this version of the Personal Folder
information service.
Steps I've followed are: Open Microsoft Outlook; Tools; Options;
Mail-set-up; data files; choose 'add' and then search/points to where the
.pst file resides

about "iPAQ H4150 & Outlook pst file size":

We use Pumatech's Intellisync at work to sync multiple calendar's to a PPC.
With regards to the size of your email ... you can set the number of email
to Most recent X-# of days. I've seen an application called Agenda Fusion
to manage email but I haven't used it

H4150 & Outlook pst file size

I want to purchase an iPAQ H4150 and wish to be able to sync with Outlook
on my PC. Is the size of the pst file an issue? I have several different
contact lists and also several calendars and task lists, and it is these I
want to sync onto the PDA. Without any emails I have compacted the pst to
68MB, but will I have a problem as the RAM on the 4150 is 64MB? Will there
also be a problem with the multiple contacts/calendar etc? If I need 3rd
party software can anyone recommend. Thanks for any help you can offer. SMG
