1.activesync 4.5 error message says Outlook not installed
Suddenly after months of working well, activesync 4.5 says outlook is not
installed and therefore cannot synchronise. Using an O2 XDA II and Windows
XP with all patches installed. Recently installed Norton 360, replacing
Norton Internet Security, but have set N360 to allow activesync programs
2.Activesync 4.5 wth Outlook 2007 and XP, not syncing properly
Hopefully someone can help with this issue. I have Windows XP with Outlook
2007 and Activesync 4.5 running. When I change something in Outlook 2007 on
the computer, it does not change on the device, for instance checking off a
task on the computer does not check of the task on the device, but checking
off the task on the device does check it off also on the computer. The big
hassle is with contacts, which I keep accurate on the computer, now they are
not updating on the device.
I have a Cingular 8125 office PC running Windows Mobile Version 5.0
Also, it was working fine with the older version of Active Sync, somehow
with an automatic update I was forced into a new active sync, now problems.
3.Outlook 2007 sync problems with MS Activesync 4.5
I noticed that my sync of contacts to Motorola Q does not always sync contact
changes. When I change on the Motorola device it wipes out the Outllok
contact. I do have Outlook overriding my mobile device. It seems to work
fine with my work pc using Outlook 2003.
I have deleted partnerships, readded, defaulted my Motorola Q. Does anyone
have suggestions?
4.Can't Sync PDA - Outlook 2007 & Activesync 4.5
My computer's OS is XP Prof. SP2. My PDA is an iPAQ H5555 with OS Microsoft
Windows for Pocket PC 2003 (Windows CE 4.2). I also have Outlook 2007 (part
of MS Office Professional Plus) and Norton 360 2.0.
When I attempt to sync my PDA, only "Favorites" and "Files" sync; the status
of "Calendar", "Contacts", "Tasks", "Inbox" & "Notes" remain as "Attention
required". When I try to resolve these items I am told to "disconnect &
reconnect" my device. After doing so, I am prompted to choose a profile name
in Outlook (one profile grabs my email from Verizon and the other grabs my
husband - I choose mine). After doing so, I receive the following messages;
"Synchronization cannot start because this desktop computer cannot access
necessary information. Restart this desktop computer and synchronize again.
If the problem persists and this desktop computer is running Microsoft
Outlook 2000, open Outlook 2000, click Help, and then Detect and Repair."
... after clicking OK, I receive the following message;
"Synchronization cannot be started because you are not able to log on to the
network and access information. Restart your desktop computer and synchronize
again. If the problem persists, contact your network administrator."
... Restarting my computer does not stop these messages, it still will not
sync. -- I am not running Outlook 2000. (With Outlook open) Outlook 2007 does
not have "Detect & Repair"; it now has "Office Diagnostics". Diagnostics does
not find anything; it redirects me to a MS Office web page that references
"Setup Diagnostic - Missing Media". Having the Office Installation disk in
the CD drive does not help. -- Running the troubleshooter for Activesync
refers me to a link that references "IF Activesync cannot receive data
through port 990". It wants me to "allow usb connections". This was done when
I set up my PDA. -- I am not part of a network (such as the way a company
would be setup, I do not have a "server"). I do however have 3 computers, a
PDA, a print server, 5 Verizon Settop boxes and a Wii that all use the same
wireless router (if you want to call that a network). None of the computers
are setup to communicate directly with each other, other than my PDA and one
of my computers.
With ALL of this background information.... anyone's help would be GREATLY
appreciated!
THANKS!
