I'm using PowerPoint 2003 with Vista. When I select an object, especially connector lines, the object moves. This is really annoying, especially with connectors as it breaks the links. I have also experienced the same issue when converting Visio objects into PowerPoint. Is there a way to turn off this feature? Thank you for your help. -- J.Far
  • 2. Why on earth did MS take away "Record Macro???"
There are so many things that are maddening in 2007. This is my latest discovery. Did they need to make room for more Ribbon code or something? Sorry. /Rant How can I write in VBcode a macro that will screenshot my Outlook calendar, paste into PPT, crop it, resize it, and print? My macro writing is largely limited to recording in Word & Excel 2003, then opening up the VB editor and cleaning up the excess code that naturally results from an imperfect recording. Anyone?

Every graph we have placed in Powerpoint 2007 will shift the legend with each view of the slide. eventually several lines of the legend overlap until you cannot read any of it. We have not been able to find a way to keep this from happening. We've tried creating the graph in Powerpoint, pasting one from Excel... nothing solves the problem.

Oh, yes. Also, there are ways to do this quickly. In PowerPoint 2002 and 2003
you can go to Insert > Picture > New Photo Album. However, I much prefer the
Image Importer Wizard at http://www.**--****.com/

However, you may want to first read through some things to make sure that your
photos aren't larger than necessary. Read through the following for sage

Pictures in Power Point

I recently prepared a presentation. When I played the slide show on my
desktop PC it looked great. When it was played from a laptop through the
projector all the pictures showed white backgrounds even though I had
inserted transparent backgrounds into the presentation. Can anyone please
help? I have looked at microsoft but cant find my particular answer.

You mentioned you "inserted transparent backgrounds" into the presentation.
What exactly did you mean by that?

I'm asking because you can't really have transparent backgrounds on a slide.
There is an addin that does something kind of similar, though -- perhaps you
used it? Or if you meant you created transparent parts in the pictures
themselves, how did you do that?

What version of PPT are you using? What version was on the laptop?

Its Powerpoint 2003. I inserted a picture and then on the picture toolbar
made the background transparent so that i matched the colour of the slide.
Then when it was on the laptop the background showed up white like the
original picture. It was so annoying.

Okay, thanks.

What version of PPT was on the laptop?

My guess is it was PPT 2002 (aka PPT XP), and it needed to have the latest
service packs applied.

Can't make white colors become transparent in PowerPoint 2002/XP

This FAQ was written before 2003 was available, but it stands to reason that
if you can't make white areas transparent in PPT 2002 without SP2, then
transparent areas might also turn white.
