  • 2. Recovery earlier version of PPT file, before changes made?
I was stripping out some slides from a large PPT document to send to someone. Went to save the smaller file and hit Save, not Save As. Is there anyway to recover the earlier version of the docuement (similar to Word)? Note earlier version is backed up on external hard drive, but I have make radical changes to it since last back up 3 days ago. Help please!

Hello, I'm on a MAC using Office 2004, I also have access to a PC with 2003 if it makes a difference. Is there a way to lock some of the items on the master slides (text boxes, images)?

The boundaries/lines around my text boxes in PowePoint will not disappear even after I went in and removed them. They show when printed, but not on the screen.

Embedded .wav sounds play incorrectly in Office 2007 Slideshow Mod

Postby ZEI » Mon, 10 Dec 2007 09:46:00 GMT

I recently upgraded from PP2003 and XP to PP2007 and Vista.

I now find that presentations with embedded .wav sound files will play in
the editing mode in powerpoint 2007, but that in slideshow mode they are
truncated in a weird way.

Specifically, the system seems to cut off the last 1 second of the sound
file, and if it is shorter than 1 second it doesn't play at all.

This problem occurs both for old 2003 presentations open in 2007 and for new
presentations where the sounds are embedded directly in pp 2007.

Curiously, if I save the file in PP2003 mode, and run it on an XP machine
with PP2003, it runs fine.

I am not sure it this is a vista issue or a Office 2007 issue, but it is
definitely frustrating.

2.Embedded .wav files only play once in PowerPoint 2007

I have a .wav sound file I have inserted into my draft PPT using the
following method:

Sound from Clip Organizer

The actual .wav sound file I chose is called "Deck the Halls 2" and it is
2707 KB. After the file is inserted, even after setting the custom
animation, the file will only play ONCE. Each time after that, it refuses to
play. I am not a novice using PowerPoint so this leaves me extremely
frustrated that this is happening. I know the process of changing the max
sound file size, looping until stopped, playing it automatically, hiding it
during show, etc., but for some reason and although this file is clearly
EMBEDDED into the PPT, it will only play the ONE time and never again unless
I delete it and re-insert it all over again (at which time it will still only
play that ONE time).

I have even copied the sound file into the same folder my presentation is in
just out of curiosity. It still refuses to play. Something is clearly
wrong. Can some one please help me rectify this problem? All help is

4.WAV or MP3 Sound Files Won't Play In PPT 2007

I've been inserting wav and mp3 sound files which I have saved in the same

50,000 kbs, and have tried every other suggestion on this discussion group

5.Wav sounds do not play in Powerpoint 2007

Powerpoint presentation with embedded Wav audio file cannot return the sound
on the slide show.

Wav sounds available from transition sound list include in PP2007 are OK.
But if I try to insert another WAV sound file (that can be read by Windows
media player), it seems that powerpoint cannot read it. The file size is
under the maximum permitted by PP2007. I have to problem in inserting and
hearing sound from a MP3 or wma file type. Only Wav type seems not to be
recognized, but not all of them as a some of them can be heard.
