  • 2. Can't enable "Package for CD"
I have a .pptx file with a nice presentation. Unfortunately, only those with PP can view it. I've read that the solution is to use the "Package for CD" feature, but it is disabled. Is there a way to enable this feature. Why would it be disabled?
  • 3. Run Macro from TextRange
In a PowerPoint 2000 presentation I've got a paragraph of text in a single TextBox. There are several words in the paragraph, which when clicked on need to run a macro. All the words need to run the same macro. My problem is getting the macro to know which word was clicked. Thanks in advance for any ideas. (placing seperate shapes over the words, and then getting and keeping them lined up would be very labor intensive due to the large number of slides/words)

Embedded music won't play

Postby R3JhbnQ » Fri, 31 Aug 2007 10:34:03 GMT

I changed my music to a wav file and it plays outside of PPT. I also changed
the setting to 50,000KB and it now shows the music file as 'contained in
presentation'. So good so far...but now I can not seem to get it to play.
I've inserted it into my slide and even when I double click it or right click
and click 'play sound' it won't play.

Any help would be much appreciated!!

what's the size of your musicfile? was the original an mp3?
in that case, do this, your new wave file will have the same size of the
original mp3

 http://www.**--****.com/ (see cdex)

try to add the sound in your presentation by the slide-transition, that must
i think it's not linked properly from powerpoint to the map on your hard
when added as a slide transition the wave-file will be certainly embedded

1.Flashfile won't embed: no different than playing mpeg?

I embedded a flash file into my pptx file. I sent the file to somebody.
File wouldn't run. Because it wasn't where it supposed to be. We off
course, embedding means (I think) that the flash file becomes part of the
pptx, it is not a file to be accompanied. Embedding as flash is the reason
why I did convert it from mpeg file in order to avoid this in the first
place. Yes, "embed" field in the properties is checked. And I am using
PowerPoint 2007. So what's wrong?

2.embedded sound won't play

My embedded sound won't play. What should I do--Is there something I'm
overlooking? I've followed all the steps to embed sound (from Insert>Movies
and Sound>Sound file, etc) & previously this method has worked fine. But in a
new presentation I'm starting when i try to play the slide show or sile--the
sound doesn't play. However, the sound in other ppt presentations that I
embedded the same way play fine. & the sound file itself plays fine when
opened from its location.

Please someone help soon...Poor college student working on a presentation.

4.PPT embedded video won't play

I did a powerpoint and embedded some wmv's in to it. I sent my presentation
to a person who said she could run the powerpoint but that videos did not
play. If she clicks on the individual video files, they play and thereafter
they also play in the powerpoint. So the videos in the powerpoint will not
work from within the powerpoint until they are individually played by windows
media player. There after they work fine. I need to distribute this
presentation widely. Can I solve this issue so that other people do not have

5.music still won't play at recipients' computers

I can't figure out why myPPT presentation is not playing the embedded music
on the recipient's end. The music file has the WAV header, the music file is
embedded in the presentation (I checked) and the file is in the same folder
as the presentation. I sent the PPT presentation to a friend via email by
using the SEND option in PowerPoint and was told that the slide show played
but not the music. I have no idea why the sound is not playing on the other
end. I changed the max size for the sound file to 20000 MB (the audio file
is way less than that) and followed all the other instructions that I've
found and still the sound does not play at the other end.

any suggestions?
