  • 1. change location of the panes
    Hello! How I can change the location of the panes in powerpoint. Default is that the slide pane is to the left, the task pane is at the bottom. I want to change this so that the notes pane can be placed to the right and the slidepane at the bottom. Can anyone please help me with this? WOuld be most greatful! Frida

    I'm making a slide show for my sisters wedding and I want it to look like you are reading a fairy tale book. I was looking for a template that looks like a book where the first page is the cover of the book and as you move to the next slide it appears you are turning the page to begin reading the story. Is there anywhere I can get this template made for me or is it impossible?!

How do I set what slides use a particular slide master.  When I am in Master
view and I roll the mouse over the slide master is specifies "used by slides
1-23."  How can I edit this range?

This is more of a reporting feature than an adjustable one.

In PowerPoint 2002, to change the Master that a slide or slides will use:
1) Select the slide(s) from the slide sorter, or slide miniatures pane (in
normal view)
2) In the Task pane select the design temples pane
3) Click on the pulldown arrow next to the design template you want to use
for this slide(s)
4) Select 'Apply to selected slides'

Now if you go back to the Master slide view, you'll see the reporting has
changed.

PowerPoint doesn't provide the functionality that you are looking for from 
Slide Master view. The tip showing which slides use a particular master is 
just read-only information and cannot be edited directly.

Hi

I have been supplied with a 40 slide presentation. From what I have read I should be able to change say the font on the slide master and see this carry through to all slides. It does not. It only affects the slide I was working on. Why is the slide master not affecting all slides? I have opened the file in Powerpoint 2004 too and the same thing happens. Help - I am desperate.

4.Link slide layout master to Top slide master 2007

Okay, so I change the title and content master footer to the color red
then I changed it back to black and went to the top slide master and changed 
the footer text to red (to affect all the slides) and it affected all but the 
title and content slide...
How do I relink the title and content master to be controled by the top 
master instead of taking precidence over it..

Finally discovered what controls the showing footer on the slides. I could not find documentation in any help files, but finally stumbled on it by process of elimination. To get the date, footer or page number to show up on the slides, you have to View: Header and Footer, and check boxes for each field. Also if you want to have a better view of footer text, view and edit it in the View: slide master view, rather than the header and footer box, which has a tiny text window.
